We had a transit stay at Hiex Kolkata Airport. Due to natural disasters we stuck at Kolkata and chosen to stay at Holiday Inn Express Kolkata airport. Ms. Atindrila Mukherjee is a very soft spoken girl. She is very cooperative and well known girl we had met. Thans a lot to the team.

Very close to Kolkata airport. Local market is closed by.
Morning breakfast is upto the mark with verity of continuation foods. Restaurant is having facility of bar with nice food within the premises.

The pros
Location is good. Very close to Airport.
Room is spacious and well laid out.

The Cons
This hotel does not operate as an Airport hotel.
They maintain the check in at 2pm. If that is the case one who is landing early might as well book a city hotel at a similar rate.
I Indicated in my booking that I will be arriving at 7am and checking out at 5pm the same day. The Hotel staff replied and said that there will be a waiting time of 60 to 90mins.
Since breakfast was Inclusive, I asked the staff if I can have breakfast on my arrival day as I am leaving in the evening. And she replied that it will be chargeable. Then she wanted to charge me an early check in fee.
When I showed her my communication with the hotel staff.. she graciously allowed me to have breakfast (the menu never changes by the way).
The Reception is being staffed by a junior who is clearly not empowered and has to make a call to her supervisor for every thing.
Definitely not an IHG standard hotel.

Great experience. Staff extremely helpful. Front desk staff, cleaning staff were very good. I wanted some tape for wrapping my mouthwash bottle - got it immediately. Very accommodating with late checkout as my flight was in the evening.Cafe staff was great. Breakfast was very good. Aaatabul was very nice.
