They definitely know what they are doing and that they have it right! Wacky dishes and menu, innovative dishes, new spin on old dishes, super presentation- even gastro at times! Lovely complimentary sweet treat in the end. Rocking music. Lovely bar. Ambient LED walls. Low lighting but then again that adds to the vibe. Well done Farzi Cafe - as an NRI u blew me away!!

This is a good place with decent food but the mumbai version of this place is simply too loud for a dining experience. the food is good but for some reason the music kills it as you arent sure if this is for dining or clubbing

Before heading, we called for reserving a table at Farzi Café but were told that reservations are only for 7.30 pm & 10.30 pm slot . For any other slot its first come first serve.

Taking our chances for the other slots, two of us rolled into this café located in the corporate ,and now an eating hub too ,of kamala mills compound in Lower Parel.
Being a Monday ingress was easy except that you have to fork out INR 150 , that too in exact change as parking fees.

Cafes location on a large rectangular floor plates ,of the defunct warehouses & shopfloor locations of erstwhile textile hub in lowerparel , gives one a clear view of the complete café from any position.
Its spacious ,dimly lit with Impressive décor ,except that some part of the walls along the length are made up of unremarkable display screens exhibiting live ocean expanse in graphics etc while the opposite wall length houses the bar.
An ensemble of farzi orchestra ( as informed by the hostess ) at the far end of the café sits awaiting to come to life.
Staff was quiet efficient.

Complimentary appetizing yogurt shots are served very spectacularly before your actual order arrives

On our needs & waitpersons recommendation we ordered for mocktails called Italian smooch and Litchi Panna desire. Nothing great to write home about.

Grainy Mustard Fish tikka was next. Softer than a babys cheek it got finished as fast as chunks of meat would amongst a pack of wolves.

Keema kulcha – Very mediocre .

In between the starters & mains a complimentary cold mint candy is served .You will be religiously educated that this helps clean your palate so you can relish the next dish’s distinct taste.

For mains we ordered for lamb shank nehari which is served with nan . Served as a curried dish with 2 pieces of lamb shank, it was so unexceptional what with missing garnishing ,that my dining companion actually announced that “ I want to quit eating non veg with immediate effect” , of course I talked her out of this pledge with a promise to take her to better place next time.

After smudging ones finger eating lamb shanks don’t expect finger bowls, since its no fine dine but a café, oops Farzi Café .

Complimentary Farzi pan is served consisting of ready made pan mix nestled in a sugar candy shaped like a puff .

Food: Mediocre 2.5 / 5

Ambiance: Fancy 4/ 5

VFM: Expensive considering the serving sizes, One fourth of the total bill is taxes 2 / 5

Service: Decent 3.5 /5

Hygiene : Good 4 / 5

Histrionics : Wins Hands down 5 / 5

They have a mandatory Service Charge of 10 % which I believe has been disallowed by GOI.

Verdict: This place just an expensive brouhaha which can be easily given a miss & I wont be surprised if its ratings eventually go down the way Punjab grills have. In the long run histrionics don’t work, good food does .
