So, the outside of the hotel reception was very impressive - a beautiful lawn with white cabana's on it and waiters around in traditional dress all serving team in the sun. Baggage screening when you arrive woke us out of that ,when it came to hand luggage with your money and valuables in it which were whisked away out of our sight and we were left to our devices to find where the luggage and valuables had disappeared to - we found them unattended in small room that anyone could have found them. The reception staff then demanding passports and acting all surprised when we told them they were in the disappeared hand luggage.

As others have commented, the reception is very grand and the ambience is nice. Some of the staff certainly seem to think we are lucky to have their service, and seem to be more interested in their own work rather than helping out new arrivals.

We were shown to our room, which although very clean and tidy was a small tiny room, with a frosted glass window into what was presumably a light hole in the centre of the building, so no daylight at all really. The room and the corridors had seen better days and although there had been attempts to freshen the place up, the marble floors along the corridors meant that anyone going along it echoed inside every room. It as like being in an echo chamber. The bathroom was again, spotlessly clean but old and tired with marks from years of use. Shower was over bath but very good. Internet was pretty good as well.

Food, and the service in the restaurants were very good. Everyone was helpful without being creepy but booking a table is essential - two of the restaurants seemed to be full and the Spanish one was very good albeit strange having to get there via the outside car park. The waiter Hershal was very good and deserves a mention. The only place to get snack in the day (other than going for a full buffet) appeared to be the lobby coffee shop which was kind of okay but again the waiters were busy doing other stuff to serve and provide bills.

If visiting Delhi again, I'd probably not bother with Claridges again. There must be better hotel by far and its certainly not deserving on a 5* claim by any stretch of imagination - and I'l stayed at a lot of them.

Its a 5* entrance with 3* reception staff, 3* 'at best' rooms and 4* restaurant staff. And the building needs a good lick of paint to get rid of the black stains over the old concrete walls.

Choose a more modern hotel in Delhi, rather than crumbling old one living off a London name.

Room tip: Don't expect a useable window or if you do get one, any kind of view.

Lovely rooms (really nice bathroom) and good food. Stayed here with our family and it was so relaxing to sit in the garden with a drink - doesn’t feel like you are in the centre of Delhi at all. Worth the money!

We stayed at The Claridges twice during our trip to India -- when we first arrived and right before leaving India. We hadn't planned to stay there twice but couldn't resist after our first visit at the hotel. It's absolutely lovely -- the lobby always smells like jasmine and there are beautiful flowers throughout. The check-in process is smooth and painless. And the service at the hotel is top notch. Everyone there is pleasant and professional. In particular, Ambash helped us during both our stays and we really appreciated it.

In addition to the high-quality staff and service, I highly recommend staying at The Claridges due to its close proximity to all the popular spots in town such as Connaught Place, India Gate, Khan Market, etc. We simply took an Uber to each spot and it was a short ride to get around town thanks to the hotel's central location.

Last but not least, the rooms at The Claridges are clean and spacious. There is free bottled water included in each room and the shampoo/conditioner/body gel/soap collection smells amazing (and is a nice way to end the day after being out and about in Delhi).

I also personally appreciated the security that was evident at the hotel. All vehicles coming in and out of the hotel are checked by security staff, and all bags/people are checked as well. It's a quick process that isn't intrusive at all. I felt very safe and felt my things were very secure while staying at the hotel.

The property itself can't be beat either! Be sure to spend some time on the lawn in the evening and check out the pool during the day. Both are beautiful areas that make you forget you're in the middle of a big city.

I look forward to staying at The Claridges the next time I'm in Delhi!

Room tip: Room 152 has a great view of the pool.

Were recommended this place at a good location in Delhi, Heritage hotel where you will not be disappointed by the service and comfort. Good beds! The breakfast was possibly the only thing that could have been improved on. Otherwise value for money.

We stayed here for our 2nd time and sadly our last. The hotel has all the charm of old style luxury but unfortunately seems to be heavily focussed on celebrations from outside during our stay there was a wedding/engagement and conference. Meaning the hotel was heavily congested and as lovely as the staff are they are pre occupied with sorting one event to another. The corridors of the hotel are extremely noisy from partying guests during the night and after an 18hour travel was not what we wanted.
