We spent three nights a Kulalu following two recommendations; we had been due to visit over Easter but COVID meant that we had to delay. We were not disappointed! Set in a truly beautiful spot on the banks of the Galana river, Kulalu is the perfect place to unwind. The tents are comfortable, the food excellent, but it's the service that really stood out; attentive but not over-bearing, Bush and his team simply could not do enough for us. We owned our own schedule which meant eating when we wanted to, with the staff ensuring we had the most relaxing time.
We drove ourselves and spent a day in the Galana conservancy and a day in Tsavo East. Loads of game (no big cats this time though) and each evening we went to Kingfisher Point for sundowners - truly memorable with gorgeous sunsets and plenty of game visiting the river. The conservancy allows night drives which were great fun as we drove back to camp for dinner (with a spotting lamp lent to us by the camp) and we saw elephant, hippo, genet, African bush cat and loads more after dark.
Can't recommend this place enough. Totally relaxing, very COVID-secure, and service the team should be very proud of.More
