The restaurant is catered mainly for locals. The seafood is fresh but prices for seafood such as Lobster, Mantis prawns are not cheap but I would say reasonable. The setting is not very clean, some may say this is more authentic but some might say, its not hygenic. This aside, the seafood is fresh and delicious. I would suggest that you ask them to either grill or steam the seafood as this would be good enough.
If i were with a group of friends travelling in this part of town I would recommend it, but if you are with family and small kids, I would reconsider coming here for seafood.

Facing the Imperial Hotel with your back to the beach, there is a entrance way with a flashing sign to the right of the hotel. Walk down it until you are at the back of the hotel. Turn left (straight ahead are booths selling shells, trinkets). There is a warehouse on your right, Keep walking if you want more selection. In the middle of the back of the hotel is a large warehouse with 20 vendors selling very fresh seafood they will cook for you on the spot.. I went to the booth at the end. I had a kilogram of baby squid with onions ginger and and a pound of shrimp and a Tiger beer for 260,000 dong ($11.20)..(I left a tip but noticed that the owner kept the tip. Typical in Asia)

Open air, basic restaurant with a lot of seafood and kinds of fish. You have to know how to chose bc not all stuff is fresh. They are mixing the fresh with not so fresh - many people, quick serve, take a beer and try to chew what you ordered. And patience with numerous ambulant sellers who will push you to buy every 2 min. Good luck!

Ate here last night. First meal here in Van Tau.

Awesome!!!! So many restaurants to choose from in the huge complex! Really if you go there it can be daunting to choose where to eat???

My hotel receptionist recommended I tried a place inside there called 'Kim Ahm' It's at the far end of the building. Couple of blocks from the beach.

300,000 for a kilo of massive prawns. 150,000 for a huge fish. All bbq. Saigon Special beer 15,000. Oh and 50,000 for a plate of rice that could feed an army!

Couldn't eat it all. So took away no problem.

Didn't. And haven't seen another foreigner since I've been here in Vung tau. But everybody has been so friendly. So many offers to come sit with people and families to eat and drink!
Many many children coming up to practice their English.

BEWARE!!!!!!!!! Trip Advisor have got the wrong location for this place on their map!! If you follow their directions. Like I did. You are walking in the totally wrong direction.
It is located behind the imperial hotel. A block or two from the sea!

I have to eat my left overs now for breakfast! Was gonna check out the British and Aussie establishments for my breakfast today. But that will have to wait! Lol.

Won't stop me popping in for a few cold ones later though!
