I was on a one day boat tour ("Love Andaman") from Thaimuang which took us to four different islands among the nine Similan Islands. The speedboat ride was across lovely seas, with great views of islands along the way, a bit over an hour. I was there during Easter Holiday and the weather was perfect. Hot and sunny, and very comfortable. At two of the islands we went to, we were able to walk around and explore the thick jungle forests, the amazingly beautiful beach and rocks. I have never seen such clear water in my life! Amazing to swim in! At one of the islands there was a cliff you could climb and get a spectacular view of the beach and the sea. So beautiful! There were also scores of fruit bats sleeping in the trees! Another thing I had never seen anywhere before. At the other two islands the boat stopped near the rocky coast and we were able to jump off the boat and swim. Whether swimming or just relaxing on the boat there were great views of the beautiful rocky coast.

Yes, these places were a bit crowded with tourists - there were several boat tour groups there all at once of course. This didn't bother me in the slightest. It was actually fun to be in such an amazingly beautiful place with a lot of people from all over the world. Everyone was happy, having fun, enjoying the sun and being friendly. It added to the happy and beautiful feeling of the place and the whole day. And nowhere was it so crowded that it affected anything I wanted to do - hiking, climbing, swimming, relaxing...

The tour boat people ("Love Andaman") were really lovely, friendly, helpful and fun. One of the tour guides even hiked up to the cliff with me and a few others. They provided lunch which was not good food at all, but quite frankly, that's not what I was there for. And I didn't leave hungry. It was also possible to buy snacks and juices and iced coffee (really good!) on the island. The boat tour also provided non-stop cold water bottles, as many as you needed.

I would definitely repeat this tour if I have the chance again! It was a fantastic day in Thailand!

Went on an incredible day trip, booked through Khao Lak Land Discovery to Similan Islands. Boat was great, and was needed to be good for the 1h45min trip. Mint, the guide was brilliant : fluent in English, Thai and German. The islands are spectacular and the snorkeling was incredible. Saw sea snakes, lots of tropical fish, coral reefs and the highlight was a beautiful turtle! The only draw back: lunch on the island number 8..... food was good, but the nearly 500 people packed onto this tiny island with a tiny area for eating was uncomfortable. A lot of the tourists are there because they seem to be on a large tour, and I don’t think they have full appreciation for what they are seeing and where they are. That is not a criticism- that’s their loss, but the lack of consider for personal space, and the fact that multiple boats use this island dropping sometimes more than 50 people off per boat (ours was 15). The island can’t totally cope and the impact will be evident in years to come: its good that they close the island for 6 months a year. They really need to rethink the lunch stop and options as it’s off putting and very invasive. Otherwise the snorkeling was incredible, the beaches beyond words and the colour of the water is unexplainable in its array of blue beauty

'AVOID' is my recommendation agaisnt similan island tour. The numbers of peopel at the island is terrible. Too crowded and cannot enjoy with the view.

If you plan for scuba diving, i would highly recommend this place as the underwater scene beyonds all islands in South East Asia !!

Not recommend for Snorkeling tour. My recommend is Surin Island for snorkeling tour!!!!

I repeat don't go to this place. Yes, the islands are beautiful. Only of you can unsee the thousands of tourist that destroy every pretty thing about the islands. The tours are just totally insane. It is a 2 hour drive from phuket to the pier. When you arrive you can already meet the hundreds of people you are going to share your day with. Amazing right? You can hear the tourguides scream in russia because i think 90% of the people are from russia. (No offence) but nobody besides russian people understand russian language?! You just put a big middle finger to the other tourist with screaming around like this. Well, then you are going to the speedboats and when you think you are sitting comfy they tell you they have to put another 30 tourist on the speadboat which is already full. Great!! When you are all pilled up you have an 1.5 hour trip to the islands. It is a very long time to sit totally uncomfortable. When you arrive you can thousands of people totally ruin the whole pretty sight of the islands. It is a shame. We human destroy every beautiful thing we see. Im embarrassed of myself that i did this trip. If you really love nature, don't go. Otherwise Say bye to the coral, the beautiful nature and its creatures..
