This hotel is a bit far from citylife, but it is quiet and beautifull.

The hotel and rooms are Really clean and in a good condition.

The pool is big and clean. You can go to the beach in only 1 minut Where you have the most beautifull sunset.

The staff, Really sweet and helpfull

This is our third stay at Maehaad Bay Resort since 2015 and I would go back there any time!

Tripadvisor reviews are very subjective and I wonder sometimes if people even bother to research where they are staying. If you are in Koh Phangan for the full moon parties, this is not the place to stay - it is at the far opposite end of the island from Haad Rin.

If you are an independent traveller with your own transport and love exploring beautiful beaches and snorkelling, Maehaad Bay Resort is perfect!

We always stay in a garden villa - these are beautiful spacious rooms with a large bedroom, small separate lounge area, huge bathroom and adjoining jacuzzi and shower outside, and a deck with sun lounges at the front overlooking the pool just a few steps away. The villas are well designed with lots of storage space, very comfortable with cold air con, and are kept very clean.

The pool at this resort is huge and there are always enough sun lounges. Inconsiderate guests with unsupervised children are sometimes annoying, which is why we like the option of moving to the sun lounges on the deck of our villa.

The beach is only steps away and the views are gorgeous! Unfortunately, Island View Cabanas next door are building an enormous resort and don't have much interest in keeping the environment clean. It's noisy and dirty... they even had a bulldozer on the beach demolishing old rooms while we were staying. It's a shame and I'm sure is causing lots of stress for Maehaad Bay staff.

The construction noise did not affect us at all in the Garden Villa although the mess on the beach was a bit upsetting. Snorkelling on the reef was fantastic and watching sunset from the sandbar is a highlight of staying here.

Service: Many people have written about the poor service and I agree breakfast staff can be a bit unfriendly. Breakfast overall is pretty poor and they are inflexible on times, so don't get there late or you'll miss out.

I think it is more a communication problem as many of the staff don't speak good English and I suppose that is frustrating on both sides. However, I have found with a bit of patience and keeping polite, they are friendly and doing their best to serve you. Top marks for the girls on the front desk and the guys at the pool bar!

You do need transport (motorbike hire across the road) as there aren't a lot of good places to eat nearby. With a bike, it's only a short distance to lovely restaurants at Haad Salad and fab seafood places at Ao Chaloklum.

Room tip: Garden Villas are spacious and great for couples

Had an amazing stay one and a half year ago here so I decided to return.
As I had already the contact o decided to book directly with them and prepay the room to get a discounted price. We had several email exchanges before the final confirmation and we were never told that massive construction was o going not only in the resort, but also outside the resort.
Tried to have an afternoon nap but it was impossible to rest because of the noise. The staff was so kind to move us to another room and upgrade us.

Unfortunately several negative points made me decide to give a negative rating:
- the breakfast has become poorer: for continental breakfast only a couple of croissants and a few not very good looking muffins; no hazelnut cream, very little pastry and the coffee from the machine is simply horrible
- in the pool: no diving but children were constantly doing it and no-one supervising
- in general the gardens were not very much cared after
- the staff looked unhappy: I am wondering if they receive a decent pay and are well treated as they deserve
- the international TV channels were not available or very fra of them were

Staff was in general nice and helpful except for the staff at the restaurant

The place does not have a free parking unless they mean from the sea side as it is only reachable from the beach. The other hotel asks you to pay a fine 5000 baht if you use the only available parking.

If you have suitcases don’t even book there you will have to carry them 500 meters in heat through the beach.

No warm water.

Uncomfortable mattress.

It is so dirty it was pointless to shower as we did not want to get dirty. The restaurant made us sick. They don’t know how to make a pad Thai. Looked like stir fried veggies. My fiancée killed 4 cockroaches in our room.

So we went there after good rating on booking. Well when we first entered the room I almost vomited the smell was repulsive. It stank like something died there. There were 2 fans. 1 working. But there was a lot of human hair tangled in its arms which made me cringe. There are cockroaches running around the restaurant and the bungalows. Bleh. Never again. I dont mind basic but this was just owfully dirty.
