The arrangements were impeccable and we were met as reqested at the airport needing two cars as we were four adults and two children. Dali Wuzi is situated down a quiet alleyway some 300 metres from the South gate of the city.
On entering the property we found ourselves in a pretty courtyard with a tree and flowers. The main building is on the right and an attractive modern kitchen and sitting room with a wood burning stove on the left. The house was perfect for the six of us with comfortable beds and lovely modern bathrooms, all in the main two floor building, together with a sitting room with TV and DVD. It was perfect with space for the children and peace and quiet for the adults.
Taxis were readily obtainable outside the South gate, where there was a supermarket which provided most of what we needed. The house was well provided with western necessities such as cereal and bread on a 'trust' basis. Restaurants were within easy reach on the road to the city and, of course, there are plenty within the city walls.
It is of note that we were staying during the Chinese New Year holiday and Dali was very crowded but a retreat to Dali Wuzi was a trip to another world of peace and quiet although, being the season, the air was punctuated on a fairly regular basis with the noise of firecrackers, but, with a few exceptions, these were some way away!
Dali Wuzi was a really perfect base and a haven of peace and calm for visiting Dali and the surrounding area. I thoroughly recommend it.
