We have been hesitant to travel to a hotel with our young kids during these Covid times, but the Fairmont led us to believe they were being extra cautious. Temperature checks they said. Only 4 people per elevator they said. Masks in common areas they said. Pool at 25% capacity they said. We were excited thinking this was a safe option. The reality of our trip was very far from what was advertised.

- The pool was SLAMMED. Like a Vegas Day Club. Zero social distancing. Management said that the giant party was at 25% capacity but there was no way to be in the water or anywhere by the pool without being uncomfortably close to people.

- no one enforced 4 person max in elevators. They were packed. We had to keep stepping out because when we would tell people it’s a 4 person max they would often not care and still get into the elevator. Probably because the signs were only on the lobby and pool levels. On all the room floors there were no signs.

- Intoxicated pool goers were hanging out and vaping in the lobby.

I used to love this property and felt like it was a relaxing time with a good, responsible crowd where kids were welcome. Not the case anymore. But if you’re looking for a place to party Vegas day Club style, this is the perfect spot for you.

The pool was overcrowded. Seems like it was crowded because of people purchasing Day Passes... we actually stayed in the hotel and were about to be turned away from the pool but the attendant said never mind y'all can go in but the pool was crowded. Every single inch of that pool. People were saving lawn chairs with no people in sight. Hotel stayers should have access to the pool and day passes should have been halted instead of halting entrance to hotel stayers. Room walls are very thin, I could hear the loud ladies next door and I could even hear a man shaving. I was not happy at all with my stay, as my partner and I traveled from Houston to Austin for a couples get away and chose this hotel for the pool and its other amenities. We were not able to use the pool at all! No social distancing was going on at the pool and it just seemed like everyone was there to party. This hotel should have been labeled as a party hotel cause the girls next door sure were loud and that pool was way too overcrowded. It's my first time using an Accor affiliated Hotel and most likely our last time.
