“Charming, Bohemian, Artsy!”
Reviewed 6 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We loved this eclectic cottage and wish we had booked it for longer. The location is nice with great cafes within walking distance. We were there on a Saturday and visited the farmer's market just a short walk from there. The people of Alpine are so freindly and welcoming. What a wonderful place to stay. We are definitely coming back!

Stayed here for two nights with a couple of girlfriends. When we walked in, we instantly fell in love with the place. Smiles all around. Cool, funky art loft space with 3 comfy beds - the antique Portuguese bed is a charming and lovely twin size that fit the littlest member of our party perfectly. Cool art on the walls, kitchen had everything we needed (does not have full size stove, but we had no plans to cook big meals). Bathroom has a small, very low sink and the shower is tiny, could be a problem for plus sized folks. Backyard is spacious and set up with chairs and tables, perfect for sipping wine and star gazing or enjoying the sunrise with a cup of coffee in the morning. The fence is an artwork in itself, we took pictures with it. Mom and pop food and shops on the same street, no big box corporate conglomerates. It is close to the train tracks and train whistles woke me in the wee hours a couple of times. (earplugs are provided) It wasn't that big of deal overall, though. We enjoyed the space very much and would recommend to friends and would stay there again. Good value for the price. Easy in and out and convenient as a base from which to explore Alpine, Marfa, McDonald Observatory, etc.

My dog and I stayed here for two nights recently. The studio is rustic, but charming. Hard to explain. I stood there with a "wow this is different, completely different than my life, I can do this, this is fun". You won't be serving dinner for 10, so the small kitchen area works just fine. Everything you need is in there. The backyard was great for my dog. First train that went by was a little shocking, but then the next train faded away and we didn't notice. BEST SLEEP I HAVE HAD IN YEARS!!! Internet strength was great, but there is no sat/cable. Actually not having a TV to watch was realllllllly amazing and very calming. Next time I will take the amtrak to Alpine, stay at this rental, and get a rental car. I am not a plus sized person, but if I were then I would find the shower/bathroom a challenge. Tight quarters.

Thanks for the lovely review Michael...99% of folks LOVE unplugging from the traditional box (as long as they have internet:) - so glad you did too....we have "embraced the artsy" at the studio and I'm glad it resonated with you and you had fun. That king bed is an organic cotton and talalay latex mattress and it is remarkably comfy (once you acclimatize to the trains:) Amtrak is a GREAT way to access Alpine. My hubby and I are off to LA this month on it. A larger shower is on the "to do list!"

What a fabulous place. Clean, comfortable and great location. Family of four and one dog stayed for five nights. All beds were so comfortable we just loved it. Alpine is wonderful, met many locals and great location for getting to all the places we wanted to visit.
I highly reccomend Artsy Studio in Alpine.
We shall return.

“Perfect Place to Stay in West Texas!”
Reviewed 16 September 2014 for a stay in November 2012

I stayed here with my girlfriend when the Sibleys just started renting it out. It was a perfect place to stay while visiting Alpine, Big Bend, Marfa. The space had a great vibe and provided everything we needed to feel fresh. The Sibleys are absolutely wonderful--kind, artsy, and super knowledgeable about the area! Can't recommend it enough! Will hopefully be back soon!!!
