The Court Square is Abbeville’s functional epicenter as well as the hub of the Abbeville Historic District. Bordered by well-preserved and repurposed 19th century commercial buildings and public buildings, including the Abbeville County Courthouse, the Abbeville Opera House and the Belmont Inn, the Court Square contains a good-looking Confederate Monument, a Civil War Cannon, and a Humane Society Fountain installed more than a century ago. The Court Square provides a venue for various community festivals and events throughout the year.
