Clean and friendly staff!

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 24 Jun 2024via mobile
Clean and friendly! Obviously short staffed but the staff they do have work hard and were always friendly! They struggled keeping breakfast items stocked, but we were patient and got to eat. Rooms were clean and modern. AC worked great! We’d stay again.

Absolutely horrid experience after the new GM came to flirt with the young female staff and behave in an unbelievable rude manner to guests, using profanity, announcing as he strutted around, "This be MY hotel, now!". A gross display of incompetence in the hospitality industry. Spend a bit more and the quality upgrade from other Hilton properties in the area is so well worth it.

The sports teams at this hotel ruined our stay. We decided to check out at 8 pm because we couldn't stand the thought of another night at this hotel. When I told the girl I was checking out, she didn't say a word, processed the checkout on the computer, and handed me the receipt. She could have cared less why I was checking out.

I work for Hilton, so I have a team member rate; I expected to be charged for my second night, but I was not expecting to be charged a late checkout fee (which was more than my cost for the room).

The teams acted as though they were the only people in the hotel. The kids were running up and down the hall yelling, playing in the elevators, and playing in the fitness room. They overtook the entire lobby, and they wiped out coffee, breakfast and the ice machine. We have teams stay at the property where I work, but we do not allow this kind of behavior!

I really enjoyed my two night stay. I just wish it could’ve been longer. This hotel had one of the most comfortable mattresses I’ve ever slept on. Sleep gets tougher as you get older but I had no problem sleeping here. The room was very comfortable and there was even a nightlight on the bottom of the alarm and a nightlight in the bathroom. Both were very useful. In the morning, the breakfast was delicious. They served cheese omelettes and turkey sausage links. The previous morning scrambled eggs and maple sausage were served. Oatmeal with a variety of toppings was served both days and it was delicious. They also had pancakes along with a variety of juices. I don’t drink coffee but they did have free coffee 24/7. All in all it was a very enjoyable stay. It was my first time staying at a Tru hotel but I’ve already booked another night at a Tru for an upcoming trip.

Rooms were fine. Gym was well-equipped, but not well stocked with towels, and there were bright lights everywhere, so there wasn’t a comfortable place to be on my back. As others have mentioned, the breakfast was terrible. Breads were individually wrapped in plastic wrap and still very stale, so they must have been there a long time. Sausages were inedible. We went to Wawa for breakfast after the first morning.

Room tip: Eat breakfast elsewhere. Nice space for gathering in lobby.

Just checked out after a 2 night stay at the Tru. This is quickly becoming my favorite brand hotel. I love the concept, promoting socializing and having fun. It’s a great place for families. The lobby decor is energetic and they had 2 foosball tables, tv, and lots of seating….some really funky swing chairs, too.

Our room was clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Big tv. Nice blackout shade. The soaps and lotions smell so good! Basic hotel breakfast included with stay.

The service we received was top notch. I was checked in by Wanda. She has a beautiful, welcoming smile and she gave me the friendliest greeting, assigned our room, and about 10 minutes after we had gotten to our room, she called to ask if everything was to our satisfaction. When I saw her again the next morning, she greeted me and asked if she could send fresh towels or anything else up for us. When we returned, the fresh towels were already there and our trash had been emptied. She gave me m&m’ as couple times, too:)

One other thing worth mentioning is walkability factor here. Starbucks, Chipotle, Wawa, and an absolutely amazing restaurant called The Cage…all just steps away. Go to The Cage for happy hour 4-6 m-f….inventive elevated cocktails, great food, and awesome atmosphere.

We very much enjoyed our stay!
