I was given a $142/night rate upon check-in, but I did not elect to get a printed receipt. Big mistake. Swiped my debit card and moved on. Upon check-out I was told everything was fine & they would send me an email receipt. Next day, the original charge was reversed and I was charged $260/night. Talked to front desk and manager to no avail. Ask manager for her leader’s name, but she wouldn’t provide it. Found owner’s name online and emailed him. Crickets. Bottom Line: Get a receipt of the rate upon check-in; otherwise, the Hampton Inn in Athens can reverse your debit card transaction and charge you the rate they want. Learn from my $378 mistake.

This Hampton sits up on a hill off the highway. Which makes it very quiet. It is clean and staff very nice. It has a nice spacious parking lot. Many restaurants are close and easy to get to. Many are in walking distance. Pizza Hut will also deliver to your room. I gave it 4 stars because I had to go to lobby to get extra towels.

The room was clean, quiet and exceptionally well appointed, especially for mobility challenged, as the bed, commode and easy chair were all comfortable. The reception by Amber and Courtney was warm, helpful and professional. The hotel is situated away from road traffic.
