An area of small busy alleyways and bright lights, crammed with bars and clubs, with a nearby cluster of love hotels: a miniature kabuki-cho (in Tokyo).
Small tight alleys that crisscross around the small area of Shianbashi. Best tip I can give is research where you want to go ie which bar your looking for. Then, use google maps. You can be right at where your looking for but not know it as it’s four storeys up with no signage outside. There are however some reasonable bars but they are hard to find. Avoid the ones that say they have no cover charge otherwise, like us your hit with a bill of 2,500 yen for two very small beers. Loads of pimps standing around and Japanese businesses men trawling the area late at night but it really is perfectly safe and the pimps only approach locals. We where asked a number of times where we where from. When we said Scotland they lit up..... ahhhh Thomas Glover.... (transformed Nagasaki shipbuilding) and of course, Scotch Whiskey.
