This is a fantastic accommodation in a quite residential area of Kyoto. The location is perfect as it is central to Kyoto Station, Gion, Kawaramaci Shijo (great shopping).
Takasegawa Tei is even better than the pictures on the website. The facilities are of hogh quality, as well as the supplied amenities. Definitely one of the nicest accomodation I have stayed in. I will definitely stay here again when I'm next in Kyoto

My partner and I stayed at K'Villa Takasegawa-tei for 5 nights in January. The house was easy to find and within walking distance of K's hostel and main offices where we left our baggage upon arrival with out any trouble (check in at the Villa was not until 3pm and we arrived around lunch time). The house was very well situated as was within walking distance to lots of the tourist attractions and the famous Gion area of Kyoto. There are also 3 or so local stores nearby a 7/11, Family Mart etc. to buy supplies. The Villa was very well stocked with all the amenities that we could have needed, hairdryer, toiletries, cooking utensils and also tea and fresh coffee beans ready for grinding. There was also a washing machine with detergent supplied which was much needed as we had already been in Japan for 10 days when we reached Kyoto. There was a slight problem with the washing machine when we arrived and I could not get it too work, I called the K's main office (from the phone provided in the Villa) and they were extremely helpful and sent over somebody within 5 minutes to fix the problem (the water mains had been turned off for fear of the pipes freezing) , it was then quickly resolved. The only thing we could think of that would perhaps improve the Villa would be to have a DVD player with a selection of both Japanese and English DVD's for resident's to watch if they needed a night off sightseeing , other than that we couldn't think of anything that would have improved our stay!. The shower is amazing too as other reviewers have mentioned. I would definitively recommend a stay here. It's also very pretty situated overlooking the river, the view from the large bedroom window is very tranquil and is a perfect little sanctuary to take some time out of a busy travelling schedule.

Walking distance to the Nishiki market. well equipped kitchen, and comfortable futons. Local maps provided.
1 review nice place with all comfortable equipments. good location easy to travel anywhere in Kyoto. Need taxi to go to JR station with all the luggages with the assistant from the villa office.

its a perfect experience to stay in k's Villa.
we will want to go back to visit the house again if we are in kyoto!
