Good location near to the station so good for bus links to get around the city to see the temples. Rooms are pretty basic but fine if you accept you are just sleeping in them. Slightly suprised the hotel didn't have wifi! I thoughT that would just be standard these days. There is a GREAT noodle place just next to the hotel (the type where you press buttons to order things). The dishes are cheap but tasty! We went a couple of times.

I wasn't expecting much here particularly after reading some of the reviews. Maybe that's why I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is conveniently located, about a 7-10 minute walk from the Kyoto station, and a brisk 25-30 minute walk to the Gion area and the Kiyomizu-dera temple. The room was quite big by Tokyo (and I'm guessing Kyoto) standards. It has a kitchenette equipped with a rice cooker and microwave but no cutlery at all! There is also a washer-dryer and a hair dryer. There was free high speed internet but no wi-fi.
The layout of the room was nice, with a separate bedroom (with a door) and a bamboo mat type seating area. The mattresses and pillows are slightly lumpy, despite which there was restful sleep to be had. For the location and convenience, it's a pretty good bet.

If you want to stay in smelly room with dirty carpets in the hall area, than it is your choice. Small room with microwave and stove, but do you really in Kyoto to cook in your room? the only positive thing is closeness to Kyoto station, but there are plenty of better places near by. Would not recommend to anybody.

A few minutes walk from Kyoto railways station with 24 hr restaurant and convenient store downstairs. Room has fridge, stove, microwave over and a small bathroom that can be used as a clothes dryer.

Room is small but neat. Staff are friendly. Recommend

I, my wife and son stayed for four days. As usual we selected a hotel located near main station as we planned to travel almost everyday from Kyoto station. The hotel was a little bit over 10 min walking distance from the station and easily to find.

Arriving from our five day stay in Tokyo, we expected better stay experience as the cost is over 25% more expensive than in our Tokyo hotel. We were disappointed. The room was worn and except the TV, all other appliances and amenities were old. We booked semi European room so we got one bed and Japanese tatami style. The bed and tatami were both worn making uncomfortable sleep. There was kitchen with old stove style and microwave and also washing machine in the room but no information in English how to use them. Even worse, no wifi was available.

As we mostly spent our trip outside the room, it did not matter much but as you need to recharge after the whole day trip, much more decent bed or tatami will be nicer.
