A memorial to all killed here in 1945. The A bomb Dome is visible through the Cenotaph and would make a better picture if the modern building had not been built behind it.

As most things in Japan, the queue starts forming quickly for no good reason. People are just queueing for a photo shoot of the Cenotaph. I can't see why we cannot simply gather around for a quicker time.

We prayed for good health and world peace at this venue. Hope this will help change the world for the better.

Thank Zac C

We were fortunate enough to catch the mid portion of a tour guide explaining the events. She was so friendly and although we did not pay, she was humbled and welcoming to us just to share the history. As long as you are sincere in wanting to learn everyone and anyone will tell you and share the history of what occurred, the aftermath, and the meaning of all of the statutes

Undoubtedly most visitors will visit the Peace Memorial Park, and in doing so you can visit the various memorials within its boundary- the cenotaph being one. As with any cenotaph, it gives an opportunity for quite reflection. The flame lines up with the A-Dome and arch- which lends itself to interesting photography

Inspiring, artful way to focus thoughts on what happened 73 years ago. Worth a pause while visiting Peace Memorial Park.
