One of the nicest things you can do in Kazan, in my opinion, is take a walk along the Kremlin embankment which runs along the riverside away from the white exterior Kremlin Walls.
Lots of nice cafes and bars as well as benches to enjoy the views over the river and back towards the Kremlin.
Families seem to love it here with lots of places to cycle and rolllerskate as well as stroll. Beautifully lit at night, earky rvening as sun sets is the best time to go.
You can see the Kazan Arena across the water, the Family Centre, the beautiful Agricultural Palace, just lovely. Beautiful topiary along thecway and lovely leafy and floral gardens.
A wonderful place to spend some time.

A friend of mine and I walked along rhe embankment from the Kremlin all the way to the Millennium Bridge. The walkway was lovely and wide and there were people eexercising and just strolling along.

I can imagine this would be stunning in summer. If you are looking for a nice quiet place to walk give this a try.

Great place to stroll on a Summer evening, with long promenade, variety of seating zones, and some restaurants with good views of the river.
The little Tea houses, cabins are excellent for a hot soup, snack with view of river.
In late Autumn however, much is closed and you have to feel up to the walk !

Embankment is just 5 minutes if you step down from Kremlin. However, it is quite long (up to 3 km) and full if coffee shops, restaurants, places to have a rest and nice walking area. Keep in mind that some restaurants are pretty expensive, look at the menu before ordering (we saw one dish for 100 Euro - peace of meat). Generally, nice place to go around
