Great place to stroll on a Summer evening, with long promenade, variety of seating zones, and some restaurants with good views of the river.
The little Tea houses, cabins are excellent for a hot soup, snack with view of river.
In late Autumn however, much is closed and you have to feel up to the walk !

Embankment is just 5 minutes if you step down from Kremlin. However, it is quite long (up to 3 km) and full if coffee shops, restaurants, places to have a rest and nice walking area. Keep in mind that some restaurants are pretty expensive, look at the menu before ordering (we saw one dish for 100 Euro - peace of meat). Generally, nice place to go around

Kazan is a big city. Compared to some European ones - it is pretty grand in size. But you will discover everything that is worth seeing within 2-3 days tops (slow motion speed) so sooner or later you will probably end up here, in the most recent addition of city's attempt of esthetic urbanization of the city center. It is an important place for it's citizens and guests. The only other pedestrian street (Bauman st) has become so shabby and uninteresting, that walking along it is considered somewhat a cliche.
Kremlyovskaya Embankment is clean and bright, good for a long walk, bike or roller skaters tour (and even ice skating during the winter!), with many coffee shops and restaurants along the route. So why am I not excited? The place is very new. New is not bad but it is new to the point that it looks fake. Every single coffee shop looks exactly same as previous: no surprises, no excitement. Quite odd that almost no people are inside those restaurants/cafes, which was explained by a local - everybody knows that any place here is very expensive for a "normal local". 3-5 EUR for a coffee is not a chock for foreigners but not a normal price for a Russian student. Same goes for food and entertainment. If this is an attempt to make a public space for the citizens of the city - then it has a clear goal of attracting only well-off part of the population.

Things don't get cool-old in Kazan: they either become provincially boring (again, Bauman street) or they get demolished (in order to give space to even newer places). I would love to see this place in 50 years with tall trees and old establishments that are affordable for everybody. But for now, it has no soul.

Is this important for a tourist? Probably not. But does it feel like a living and breathing part of the city that I would absolutely recommend to visit? Unfortunately not.

This is the best river-side walk l've seen in Russia. It's perfect all year round and in all weather conditions. It offers plenty of fun activities, gorgeous views, and places to eat or drink. Everyone will find something for one's taste here. The spirit of holidays live here all the time.

The Kremlyovskaya Embankment (Ru: Кремлевская набережная) is a pleasant river-side walk, especially in the summer, the view is great. However, in the winter, the river is frozen and the air is cold. But it is still a great experience.
