While staying in the Sortis, we had complimentary breakfast for three days. Therefore, we ate breakfast in the Manabi each day. The buffet was plentiful and very slightly varied from day to day. There was an omelet station and the ability to request waffles or pancakes. The omelet chef varied from day to day, but on day one and day three my omelets were sheer perfection. Unfortunately, on day two the young man making omelets used too many of all ingredients, especially egg, and it was enormous. When having a buffet, I prefer a small (one egg) omelet as it cooks faster and doesn’t overwhelm all the other choices. The service was attentive and the coffee was very good! Gizetta seated us on two of the days and was very attentive to ensure we had all we needed. It was tough to catch the names of the servers as the name tags in this establishment are very hard to read. My recommendations for Manabi based on this review are: 1) ensure that everyone is trained to make omelets the same way and to make them smaller so they are cooking faster (and you can serve more guests) and that the guest has room to sample so many of the other great choices. 2) ensure that employee name badges are legible and that employees introduce themselves by name to each guest. This improves accountability and allows your guests to give excellent feedback when well deserved.
