Great view from the room on 14th floor

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 15 Jul 2024
Very nice place, comfortable and nice room. Staff is very friendly and helpful and make you feel special. View from 14th floor is excellent and even better from the rooftop bar.
The breakfast buffet on 14th floor is modest but delicious. The one by the reception is more elaborate and also very delicious.

I recently stayed at this hotel with my young children and parents, after having stayed here 9 years ago. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay even though it unfortunately coincided with Golden Week which meant that the hotel was overrun with Chinese tourists, making the hotel feel extremely busy. You couldn't go up to your room without the elevator making 2-3 stops and breakfast was a bit chaotic. That said, we booked lounge access and that was extremely nice. The 5-7 Happy Hour was so worth it. Besides the drinks, the food was excellent and we ended up skipping dinner each night because we were so full from Happy Hour. Mrs. Elvira was extremely helpful to us when we were at the Lounge and helped us coordinate small issues with our room and a take away box for my daughter when we left the hotel. You can eat breakfast in the lounge too, but my advice is don't. There are wayyyy fewer options. My only "negative" comment about the hotel is that our room was really cold and I couldn't seem to control the thermostat. We called reception and they "fixed" it numerous times, but it was never really fixed and we were uncomfortably cold while sleeping. That said, I would still stay at this hotel again.

Excellent location and extremely hospitable staff that make us want to return.

Special mention goes to Anna Wong at the breakfast restaurant. Anna goes around every table to check in with guests with her bubbly self. She chats in English, Mandarin, Bahasa, cantonese and various dialects. Her bubbly-ness starts our day on the right footing. It is obvious she takes pride and loves her vocation. She is such an asset to Le Meridien KK.

Special thanks to Liew for being so empathetic and extending our check out time due to our flight time.

Many tourists who were unfortunately very loud and unruly, even at the Club Lounge. This affected our experience to which the hotel even apologised on their behalf even though it’s out of their control.

Room tip: Check out avoidcrowds.com to avoid coincide of dates with holidays of countries where tourists could travel in hoards.

Although I’ve been to KK a number of times my last stay at Le Méridien was back in 2015 (when I really enjoyed it). This time too I was very pleased with my choice. Location is across from the market place & a short walk (maybe 8 minutes - but Grab is recommended in the heat of the day) to Gaya Street. The hotel has been renovated since my last stay & is a lovely property. We stayed in 2 rooms with club access and really enjoyed - & recommend ~the evening cocktail hour which had a very generous selection of hot & cold food & drinks to sate guests while watching the gorgeous sunset. Despite our best intentions we never went out for supper because the cocktail hour replaced any meal we may have wanted to have. Kudos to Elvira & the other lounge staff who were extremely helpful & solicitous. They really went out of their way to make sure that all went well with our stay. Breakfast at the Meridian also has a wide selection of choices though is better taken in the main restaurant rather than in the club lounge. The pool is okay though not particularly child friendly. I would stay here again - and will!

We had a nice stay at Le Meridian, and had access to the executive lounge which was lovely. Breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails were available at the lounge. However, we found that the breakfast at the main restaurant downstairs had much better variety of course, so opted to do that for two out of our 3 days there. Our room was spacious with a nice sea view (10th floor). Location wise, it is directly opposite the night fish market and seafood centre which was good fun. We would have give this a 5 star rating except for a few things - it is a little dated in terms of the furnishing, the hallways/landing on our floor was really bare and felt uninviting (would have been nice to have some plants or decorations), and the smell of the fish market was very very strong the moment you step out of the hotel. We would definitely stay here again when we are next in KK.

Room tip: You can just take photos of lovely sunsets at the bar on 14th/15th floor without needing to get a drink

Look, this is a pretty luxurious hotel. Friendly (humble) stuff and comfortable rooms.
The breakfast buffet is not bad and the location is quite good, near the waterfront boardwalk. (With restaurants and pubs etc). But there was a flushing issue with the toilet which could not be fixed and although there is a digital thermometer in the room; the temperature can not be changed by the hotel guest. This needs to be done by the hotel staff upon request.

Room tip: Try for a waterfront view.....

Dear JuRut,

Thank you for taking the time share your feedback with us. We are glad to know that you had a good experience staying with us especially in terms of location, customer service and breakfast buffet. And if it wasn't for the toilet flushing and room temperature control issues in the room, I believe the experience would have been great instead of just good!

We are pleased to inform you that we have managed to find a solution to the flushing issue and hopefully, after the technical advise from our consultants, will be permanent. As for the room temperature control, we do apologize for the inconvenience as it is part of the green initiative to reduce carbon footprints wherever we operate and your as well as everyone's kind understanding and support is very much appreciated.

Once again, thank you very much for your kind review and feedback, and we look forward to welcoming you back!

Kind regards,
Jeremy
