Great City Center location, with sea views

Grandis Hotel is an excellent choice when visiting Kota Kinabalu, as it is located right in the city center and connected to the modern Suria Sabah Mall.

We enjoyed staying in this hotel as it is very centrally located, and walking distance to several attractions such as Gaya Street restaurants (Keng Wan Hing, Yu Kee Bah Kuet Teh, Restaurant Melanian, Yee Fung Laksa etc), Philippines Market, Tokay seafood market, "I love KK" Instagram spot, Wisma Merdeka shopping Mall etc.

They have a good restaurant that serves quite an extensive range of Asian and Western breakfast.

There is a rooftop bar with a swimming pool that has great sunset views in the evening around 630pm. The gym is also located on the rooftop floor.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel, and can recommend this hotel highly.

Room tip: Access Suria Sabah Mall from 1st floor.

Very disappointing, avoid!

Was very disappointed with the Grandis hotel.

Our room was a sea facing "luxury suite", but whilst it did have a lovely view of the harbor and Gaya Island it also looked directly out on to a very large building site!

The room was spacious, but very old fashioned and felt damp and unclean.

The service at breakfast, by the pool and at the bar in the evening was uniformly terrible with me having to constantly chase the staff for any form of service.

The pool area is ok, but has only 3 or 4 sunbeds and no towels despite what the hotel states. There was absolutely no staff around the pool area.

Breakfast was predominately Asian food (not a problem being in asia) but limited choice and much of the food was gone by 8.30 am (a big problem!).

I am equally disappointed with your experience. I am sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. However, with your staying period of less than 20 hours, your comments is not only extreme but also unfair.

We have notices that stated the pool opening hours and period where no staff will be around and where to obtain towels. There will be staff around during the opening hours. Because of the limited space, we cannot have too many sunbeds. But we definitely have more than 6 sunbeds. As for the breakfast, there will always be peak period where food finished quickly and will need to be replenished and of course it takes time especially for hot food. But we definitely do not stop providing food or leave the tray empty. To say much of the food is gone by 8.30 am is simply untrue.

We appreciate feedback and take them seriously and will use them to improve our products and services. We really want to provide a value stay for our guests. We really want to provide a good experience for our guests. As evident from the other many positive reviews, we are motivated to do more.

We are still recovering from the post pandemic effect, and as challenging as it is now, we appreciate patience, support and fair review. Not an extreme one to ask others to avoid as if it is life threatening.

Excellent hotel

Excellent location for exploring. The rooms are large and everywhere is spotlessly clean. The staff are all lovely, very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is very good, they are always checking to see if any dishes need refilling. We stayed here for 11 nights and loved it, we cannot wait to return to this lovely hotel.

Best Hotel in Town

Grandis is a very nice hotel. Great location, polite frontdesk, helpful housekeeping, delicious food, easy access to shopping mall and most important is the cleaness of room.
We will stay again in Grandis for sure.

Hotel located at the same building of modern shopping centre, easier for shopping and meal nearby.
But it's ridiculous that no extra bath towel because of fully book! Is kind of joke for 4 star hotel!
