good location, strange occurences

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 20 Dec 2019
stayed for 4 days and 4 nights (stupid airline only flies at night) and it all seemed good until I was going to sleep. I did request a single bed but they typically ignored my request and had to put beds together. The room aircond had no remote and for a while I thought it was absent.

The worst thing was the constant drilling and hammering throughout the morning and afternoon (Room next door, what are you doing) and even at night. What the hell are you guys doing?

And to anyone on the 7th floor, be careful, one of your "windows" actually leads to the corridor outside! Not sure why this is even necessary?

Pros: The location is just ideal for anyone in the city, it is close to several of the main shopping malls and tourist destinations plus 24 hour restaurants and fast food. The money changers beside it have the best rate in the city. The Hotel itself is about 10 minutes from the Airport , though the KK city government still hasn't built any way to avoid congestion or avoid trapping pedestrians on one side of the road.
Date of stay: December 2019
Room Tip: get another hotel.

1. Check in 4/5
Hassle free. Staff were friendly at the reception but do not go extra mile to provide information about the area.
2. Room 5/5
Don't be deceived by the shabby looking exterior of the hotel and its corridors. The room at level 10 was fantastic. Clean and comfortable. Toiletries were provided.
3. Breakfast buffet 4/5
Good spread and variety.
4. Location 5/5
Right behind Centerpoint Sabah. Stone's throw to waterfront, handicraft centre, night market.

10km 17 mins (north) by car/grab out of city centre. Room decent, spacious enough although aged. Clean. My room look to the UMS green hills across the road. Breakfast good & sufficient; loved the juicy sweet fruits and Sabahan daging/ayam masak merah or kicap. Hotel has a secure glass door to adjacent shopping complex where you can get anything.

Counter services efficient & friendly.

The hotel is just next to Centre Point Shopping Mall and within distance to Imago Shopping Mall. The hotel room is spacious. Bathroom door is wood, meaning it is not transparent. However breakfast choices for hot food is not much. But the pastries are nice. They serve self made yogurt! I stayed at both deluxe, superior and triple room before. Triple room has no window nor cabinet nor wardrobe. But the room is spacious. Superior and deluxe are better with windows and also spacious and more cabinet. Nice hotel.

The room was nice and clean. The hotel is very well situated, very near the Philippino market. We got upgraded to a nicer room with a view of the sea and the market, which was nice. Breakfast is OK. Staff is friendly. Only 4 out of 5 because there was no pool...
