Out of KK City Centre

3.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 8 Dec 2019via mobile
10km 17 mins (north) by car/grab out of city centre. Room decent, spacious enough although aged. Clean. My room look to the UMS green hills across the road. Breakfast good & sufficient; loved the juicy sweet fruits and Sabahan daging/ayam masak merah or kicap. Hotel has a secure glass door to adjacent shopping complex where you can get anything.

Counter services efficient & friendly.

The hotel is just next to Centre Point Shopping Mall and within distance to Imago Shopping Mall. The hotel room is spacious. Bathroom door is wood, meaning it is not transparent. However breakfast choices for hot food is not much. But the pastries are nice. They serve self made yogurt! I stayed at both deluxe, superior and triple room before. Triple room has no window nor cabinet nor wardrobe. But the room is spacious. Superior and deluxe are better with windows and also spacious and more cabinet. Nice hotel.

The room was nice and clean. The hotel is very well situated, very near the Philippino market. We got upgraded to a nicer room with a view of the sea and the market, which was nice. Breakfast is OK. Staff is friendly. Only 4 out of 5 because there was no pool...

Important to me would be clean sheets and towels, hot water and airconditioning which is cool enough to feel soon after you push in your key card. Location was perfect to shops, for food and to pick up obligatory items to bring back, as shopping centres, market and F&B outlets were all around. If you are into massage, lots all around including places you can trim your hair. Nothing lacking in this seemingly basic hotel especially with a good rate too. Not sure whether only here, or elsewhere in KK, no problems for smokers to find a place to puff. Good hotel but bear in mind some rooms do not have outside views if you are particular.

We chose this hotel as we had an overnight layover before heading off to Sandakan the next day and it was close to the airport. The hotel itself is conveniently located next to a couple of shopping malls and a few minutes from the night market. The accommodation itself was pretty basic, but the rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff there were great. We arrived with a hard shell union jack suitcase that had got broken on the flight and they told us that if we were quick we could get a replacement in the mall (we arrived just as the mall was closing). The next morning they said we could leave the broken suitcase with them. We got up at 5:30 and they very kindly made us a breakfast to take with us to the airport and had ordered us a cab. When we got to the airport however - disaster! my little boy discovered he'd left his brand new tablet and speaker dock in the room. I called the hotel to let them know and they said they'd check it out. On our return 5 days later I swung by the hotel and they had it ready and waiting for me to pick up. I really can't thank them enough for being so incredibly honest. Whilst waiting for them to get it, I noticed our suitcase was sitting there it had been repaired by a member of staff who had taped up the hole and was going to use it for themselves (I don't blame them, it was a pretty cool case) but they even asked if I wanted it back, as I'd already bought a new case, I said it was fine I was quite happy that it was going to live a new life in KK - seemed like a fair trade to me :-) All in all a great experience and i'm happy to recommend that people stay there. Thanks once again to all the staff.
