Location: Very good. Conveniently located just opposite of the Suria Sabah mall, and less than 10 mins walking distance to the Waterfront, Jesselton Point, Sinsuran market, Gaya Sunday market.
Room: Small and dated. Cleanliness can be improved. Poor sound insulation (you can hear the sound of airplanes and vehicle passing by very clearly). Pillows was soft and comfy.

My review the hotel decently and old charm hotel. standard hotel provide reception, Bellboy service, F&B cafe and food Room service,Convenience store .Car park available parking with chargeable fee by perday i park my rental car for 2 days for a safety (Rm $15 per day ) .
my honest opinion staying for 5 days . The hotel are pleasent , lobby area are spaces and safe security surrounding within inside hotel ,24hrs staff available ,friendly staffs english speaking front office ,phone operater are helpfull and accommodate my requests upon asking .like requested for hair dryer send to room .request extra pillow .services are good .Upon request check out late extended to 1 pm are giving .(if need extend more 1 pm to 6 pm additional Rm $100 )
Location is plus it near the Jesselton Point ferry port approximately easy walking distance 4 to 6 minutes .Mall Suria Sabah shopping complex(3 floor Food Court sell various food local and ready and light food,juice dessert and etc . Good place to stop here and order take away food if your want make day trip to island for picnic )Just a cross infront the hotel Lobby.
Room setup in room bedset mattress and pillow good and square room size ,aircon system good ,hot shower are good ,decoration room are contemporary style . Value for money for rate.
Down side the bathroom need to make over .over all my experience are good
Food buffet breakfast .decent and various choice everyday hot item menu change and mostly cooking local dish like meat chicken ,noodles, vegetables.also continental breakfast available too , toast and butter .coffee , tea ,milk and orange juices .
I like the hotel campaign Save Our Planet.thump up👍👍.as i always check in hotel will not ask the make up the room . During my stay. bed sheet ,towel still can use till last day check out .i will change towel bath when i want it only . we get room next each other when i booking 2 deluxe room .this hotel provided extra bed upon request with charges. RM $75 without morning breakfast or add Rm $25 for Breakfast. Can request when we check in on arrival .Best way book the hotel with online travel portal.
Traveling surrounding is easy .walking distance to Gaya street also call Chinatown (morning market only open on Sunday 6am to 2 pm ),Central market (sell local vegetables and fish),Handicraft Market (Philippine market .sell art and craft souvenir, cloth,.pearl .Do allow asking discount when you want like to buy in Gaya morning market and Handicraft Market.🤑,also can walk KK Waterfront (Bar and live band for night chill up or for sunset hangout ,it serve foods and drinks .Down side is smoking area at outdoor dining area facing beach.
I am truly grateful to make my stay in this hotel when my first trip to kota kinabalu within my budget truly the hotel still have hidden charming although old hotel , i still find pleasent during my stay 5 days .👍👍👍👍👍thank you Gaya Centre Hotel all staffs
