We chose this hotel as it's close to JR Nara station and we had to leave early to catch our train the following morning. I was impressed by the onsen facilities and loved that it was traditional tatami (and no shoes!) throughout the hotel. Super nice staff and great breakfast. We have stayed in a few Dormy Inn hotels but this one was the best so far.

I've stayed in a few Dormy Inns before and loved it. Ever since I noticed the same group is behind Onyado Nono I wanted to try one and finally did it last trip.
Right next to JR Nara station, location is perfect. Public onsen is of high quality, free ramen at night, excellent breakfast, all Dormy inn standard. Difference is in room design. Onyado Nono has the traditional Japanese style with tatami flooring throughout - shoes off at entrance.
Unfortunately I have to agree with other reviewers that guests from certain country are not well behaved especially in the onsen which is a shame.

My son picked this hotel and it was perfect. It was easily accessible by train and in a perfect location. The hot springs were wonderful, my only complaint is that you are not supposed to wear clothing, which is fine, but the hotel let some women in to look at the springs while we were enjoying them and it was very uncomfortable. Other than that the hotel was fabulous and the morning breakfast, was the best we had our entire trip.

The rooms are very comfortable and staff very welcoming, we rarely had to call the lift as the doorman usually had the lift waiting once you had removed your shoes.
Each floor had a vending machine area with a microwave, which is a great bonus.
The TV featured information about how busy the Onsen and laundry was.

The only downside is this hotel seems to have a lot of coach tours who it appears aren't explained the rules of the Onsen, our visit on the second night (10pm) was plagued by loud children splashing around and parents who had no regard for anyone else. Onsens are supposed to be a relaxing experience and not a play pool.
