A very lovely ryokan. The rooms were big and spacious, especially the bathroom. They also had a wonderful massage chair which was great after a long day of walking. Staff were incredibly professional and polite, and could handle English quite well. Dinner and breakfast provided were delicious and a great example of Japanese kaiseki.

Location is very convenient, not even 5mins from Kintetsu Nara station, and just next to a popular shopping street. It's also just 10min from Tofukuji and the area where the deers start to show up.

Thank you very much for choosing our hotel the other day.
We are also content you could have a pleasant time in Nara and our hotel.
We wish you could have second time to visit Nara, where we can see a variety of scenery of the four seasons

Spacious, comfortable ryokan with large main area for sleeping, and 2 side tatami rooms, one with a settee, chairs & table, and one with traditional Japanese table and floor level seats w/backs. Great for our family of 2 adults & 3 teenagers. Full amenities. Most staff was very friendly. Large, well equipped onsen with indoor & outdoor baths. A 10 minute walk to deer park which starts your journey to all the local temples. Short walk to main shopping street with lots of local items, such as calligraphy supplies. 10-15min walk from Nara JR station, 2min from Kintetsu station.

This hotel is near Kintetsu station; this line has fastest connection to Kyoto. JR station is farther away. The rooms are spacious with very well equiped bathroom in addition to public bath. The beds are excellent. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Upon arrival and every evening when we returned from a day walking they awaited us with hot towel and special green tea. The breakfast is Japanese only. But there are ample shops where you can buy excellent food. Near the hotel there is a specialist in Japanese masage; very helpful.

Kasuga hotel is just up the road from Kintetsu Nara Railway Station and major bus stop; very close to interesting shops and restaurants; and a short walking distance from Nara Park and National Museum and shrine. Service was excellent and attentive, and traditional breakfasts really beautiful. Our room was very comfortable, with both western shower, and an 'open-air bath' --which was a great hit with the grandchildren. However, it is expensive, and you certainly pay for the location.

The hotel is in a most convenient location being just up the hill from the Kintetsu Nara station. (The JR station is a few blocks away.)

Our room, 310 was very spacious, and could be called a fusion of Japanese and Western styles, with permanently set up western floor mattresses - two king singles, and two low chairs and coffee table in the sitting area . The bathroom was exemplary and contained a wooden bath which was most comfortable. The view from the room was over roof tops and nearby trees. There was a small balcony.

The staff were very helpful but with limited English. Breakfast was standard Japanese or Western style. A booklet entitled "Nara map Daytime/ Night" was the best restaurant guide we have come across in Japan and was extremely useful. Many restaurants and cafes were conveniently located near the hotel, as were shrines, temples and museums.

Room Tip: 310 was good. There are many different room configurations
