“Big mall with lots of restaurants”

Kids loved namco (playground with the video games). Lots of shops and restaurants. This place was deserted when we visited. Got some bargains on clothes.

We took a train to Otaruchikko station and walked the mall towards Otaru town centre. Less time consuming this way.

Suggest skipping this if you have only 1 day in Otaru.

Good supermarket to stock up, small take away/quick bite to eat restaurants plus sit down restaurants too! Good wide range of shops; clothing, furniture and random odd shops. Good to see some modern Japan culture that isn't just there for tourists. Good for a couple of hours walk around, especially if it is cold outside.

from Daiso, bookstore, AEON supermarket to eateries and endless shops, this is a place to be when it gets really cold in the winter. plenty of small establishments to charm and no lack of food choices.

This mall is conveniently located next to the Grand Park Hotel and occupies 3 levels (including the basement). If you are staying at Grand Park, you will definitely not missed it, particularly if you need to go to the Otaruchikko train station. I like to go to the Aeon Supermarket rather than the shops on the 2 levels, to pass my time if I have nothing better to do. There is a good spread of items in the supermarket including souvenirs. On the other 2 levels of shops, there are several clothing shops but none of the sales staff can speak English. There is a big Daiso Store located on the 3rd level and I am pleased that most of the items at Daiso cost only 100 yen plus tax of 8 yen (total 108 yen). This is very much cheaper than what it cost back home.
