We stayed for just a week and loved every minute. It's not the easiest of places to get to but that just adds to the exclusivity. Set amoungst the shade of the vines, it's a cool retreat from the blazing sunshine if you want to give your burning skin a rest! On your arrival, you are likely to be welcomed by ducks, chickens, cats and pet dogs, all of whom are very friendly and affectionate.

Deborah, the owner, is always on hand without being obtrusive to give advice or to answer any questions you may have. She stays in the property next door but you can't see it as there is enough foliage to give the impression you really are in the middle of nowhere!

There are enough restaurants within walking distance and although they all have a similar menu each one has it's own paticular charm. Due to the existence of a huge natural spring at the top of the mountain, there is a constant stream of fresh water which the locals use to their advantage to supply the trout farms attached to their restaurants. you can't get fresher than that!

We had a hire car so we could drive into Kalkan town, the old town is overflowing with restaurants shops and bars for every taste and pocket. There's even a small but stoney beach at the far end of the waterfront. Can't wait to go back.
