We went to Maharaja Indian Restaurant (I think it's also known as "The Spice Shop") as a family. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, shrimp biryani rice, chicken curry, and fried pappadam. I had a Kingfisher beer ($100NT).
The service was good and the restaurant is decorated decently. They played indian music and had Indian MTV showing on a big screen tv. The menu is in both Chinese and English, and the server could understand and speak enough English to do her job for us; we thought the service was good. We paid $1500NT (about USD $50) for our meal, and they gave us a discount card for a 10% discount on future visits. We will go back for sure. The portions were slightly small.
The food, we thought, was very good.
My kids ate a chicken curry with tomatoes (sorry, I didn't catch the name of the dish because my wife ordered it for them) that they seemed to enjoy a lot; my son ate really quickly and asked for more. The pappadam was good.
The chicken tikka masala was really delicious! It is boneless and cooked on a kebab, then served on a plate with pickled onions. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and had a really nice blend of flavor and spiciness. This was the best thing we ordered, and I would definitely recommend it.
The palak paneer was also good, but was perhaps a little bland. It didn't have as much flavor or spice as I would have liked, but I would probably order it again since it's one of my favorite Indian dishes.
The shrimp biryani rice was very good also; there was a lot of prawns in it and the rice had very nice flavor.
