Pretty decent Marriott. Big room nice shower. The bed was a bit hard. Not sure if it was just the bed we have or if all are like that. Got a decent rate signing up as a member. Wished they had breakfast included. Not a deal breaker. Would go back again.

I held a meeting here in their boardroom and it was very good. The staff was super accommodating and the space was very good for the needs that we had. The location is very convenient to the highway which made getting here easy. The hotel is recently remodeled, so it has a clean and fresh feel.
I did not stay in the rooms or have any of the food, so I cannot comment on those. I can imagine that those are fine as most Courtyards are very good.

Although the hotel is newly remodeled and clean, there are drawbacks for sure. The staff is friendly and helpful, but the rooms had no cups for coffee, and only paper cups could be found by desk staff which is not great, but okay.
Even after a full day of travel, we did not sleep well due to a very hard bed, not typical Marriott quality, a fan that turned off and on all night and did not block the traffic noise or adequately cool the room, and finally the worst, two sensors right over the bed with alternately flashing blue and yellow lights. Seriously? Who does this? They reflected in the mirror at the foot of the bed so we had light blinking in us from two directions!
Beware, bring earplugs and eye mask if staying here.

I am so sorry that you didn't full enjoy your stay with us. With the renovation we got brand new Marriott beds and new smoke detectors. We are still working on a solution to help with the blinking light on the smoke detectors.

We were there over the weekend for a cheer competition. The comp ended VERY late (11:30pm) and we were starving. The front desk staff recommended some pizza places for us and we were able to stay in the lobby for a couple of hours to wind down. They were very accommodating when we ran out of plates and the girls were thirsty! They even let us have a little "parent" meeting away from the girls. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. Megan was AMAZING and very helpful to all of us.

Courtyard Albany Thruway
I have been traveling to this hotel regularly for two years due to its convenient location. It has always been decent, but recently the hotel was renovated and looks beautiful! In addition, I should note that the staff here are some of the best Marriott staff I've come across. As the hotel is being renovated, there are limited rooms available, and I was placed in a first floor room. As a woman traveling on my own, I do prefer to have a room on a higher floor just for my own peace of mind. Although Ada, at the front desk, told me she didn't have any other rooms available at the moment, she said that she would do her best to place me elsewhere later if someone else cancelled. When I returned later, she had done just that, and Dee at the front desk, who was also lovely, confirmed that my room had been moved to the third floor. The next morning I thanked Ada profusely who was so kind and smiled like it wasn't a problem at all. I hate to be "that guest", so it's so nice when staff don't give you a hard time about making a request. Really, all the staff at this hotel are so nice and accommodating.
Even though, admittedly, the hotel rooms on the back side of the hotel overlook the highway, the windows do block out most of the highway noise. It doesn't bother me as the location is so convenient (and great for runners as the U Albany campus is right across the street) and I like a little ambient road noise to sleep. Anyhow, it gets an excellent rating from me!
