I cannot comment on the state of the hotel. But I can comment on the poor customer service. I booked the hotel to visit distant family. My aunt suddenly passed away and I asked the manager if they can give credit or refund since I had a death in the family. The manager stated that “you were out of the window for a cancellation yesterday so we cannot give you a refund”. Well I obviously could not predict my aunts untimely death the day after! I pleaded with the manager but his response was “it’s homecoming weekend and it’s very busy here. Someone else could have booked this room”. I was shocked by the lack of remorse and inhumane way he said that. I been to many hotels and know what they can and cannot do for “policy”. Also for someone grieving to hear this sort of response, it came make them feel so much worse. They charged my card so that they do not lose their money for a room that could have been used for their busy weekend. My family and I plan to make many trips to Albany in the future and will never be booking at this location again.
