I cannot comment on the state of the hotel. But I can comment on the poor customer service. I booked the hotel to visit distant family. My aunt suddenly passed away and I asked the manager if they can give credit or refund since I had a death in the family. The manager stated that “you were out of the window for a cancellation yesterday so we cannot give you a refund”. Well I obviously could not predict my aunts untimely death the day after! I pleaded with the manager but his response was “it’s homecoming weekend and it’s very busy here. Someone else could have booked this room”. I was shocked by the lack of remorse and inhumane way he said that. I been to many hotels and know what they can and cannot do for “policy”. Also for someone grieving to hear this sort of response, it came make them feel so much worse. They charged my card so that they do not lose their money for a room that could have been used for their busy weekend. My family and I plan to make many trips to Albany in the future and will never be booking at this location again.

We hadn't stayed in a nice Hampton Inn in many years so they haven't been our hotels of choice recently. Most have been run-down, older properties and poorly maintained. We were in Albany for a funeral and needed to find a hotel at the last minute. Again, Hampton Inn is not my first choice, but this property has given me hope that perhaps Hilton is renovating and maintaining their Hampton Inn properties.

This hotel was beautiful. Not your average Hampton Inn. The lobby was spacious, clean and beautiful. Our room was also spacious, modern and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was big, having one of the biggest vanities of any hotel we've stayed in. The shower was strong, the bed was extremely comfortable although the pillows were not comfortable. The room was quiet so we slept well.

The breakfast was basic, but sufficient. While I could stay in the room for several nights very comfortably, the breakfast would get old very quickly.

Surprisingly very pleased with a Hampton Inn property

First class hotel to stay at while in the Albany area. It's somewhat congested traffic-wise in this particular area, but so be it. GPS works wonders ;-)
I requested a first-floor room, but they did not honor it. I don't know why some hotels don't honor this request - seems pretty easy to plan IMO, if they wanted to.
The 2nd floor room was spacious enough, and it had a nice big bathroom with plenty of counter space. The indoor pool is spectacular - well designed and accessible. Breakfast was the usual Hampton offerings, and the breakfast area was well kept and clean.
When we travel back to the Albany area - this Hampton will again be our choice for our overnight stay.
