Checked in after 10 pm. The air conditioning wasn’t working in our room. Went to call the front desk and the phone didn’t work. My husband went down to the desk to tell them about the air conditioning not working. The guy said they had 20 complaints and would get to us when they can. There was clearly a problem with the air conditioning that existed when we checked in and they failed to tell us. I took a shower and the tub did not drain. It was after 11 pm and the room was still hot. I used my cell phone to call the hotel. The guy was extremely rude and said the maintenance guy will be there when he can. As it got close to midnight I called the front desk again and asked to speak to the supervisor. She informed me that the maintenance guy had left for the night and they did not have a clean room to move us. She said the building is a hundred years old and the air conditioning does not work well with the heat they were having. Her solution was to bring us a fan and apologize. Our friends’ room had the same problem with the air and their toilet was stopped up. This hotel definitely has issues.

This was stop one on our week long road trip. We were greeted upon arrival from very friendly front desk staff, who explained all the policies for the hotel. As with other hotels, they do not clean the room while you are there, however, if there anything you need (more towles, soap, etc) they are very happy to get it for you. Hot breakfast is included in the room rate, which made a great start to our day of sightseeing. The location is great, with many restaurants, the Hudson Riverfront, State Capital, and more. We felt quite safe walking around the area in the evening. . We will definately stay here again.

When we arrived at the front desk, we had to wait 10 Minutes before anyone arrived. No smile no attention.
When we got to the room, the toilet seat was up and there was urine on it.
The 2 evening, there was no more hot water to take our showers.
When we returned from our day, the room had not been made and the towels had not been changed.
I went down to the reception and ended there, waiting at least 5 minutes before seeing someone arrive. He told me that it was indicated on a poster that the rooms were no longer made every day.
I have no problem with that, but they should have told me when I arrived. He replied that he did not have to tell me because it was written on the panel.
No empathy on his part and when I asked for new towels (because mine were soaked in the bath), he gave me a look that I did not appreciate.
Our room overlooks the highway with the addition of a railway.
The only positive point was the size of the room (room for the disabled) and the hearty breakfasts.
We will never return to this place.
