Stayed overnight for a dance competition. There are many hotels in this area and I would probably try any one of them before going back to the Econo Lodge.

PROS:
Location - just off I-87 and close to the Colonie Mall/Airport.
It is also next to a gas bar/convenience that has lots of drinks/snacks/coffee. On the other side of the gas station is a Dunkin Donuts.
Price - paid $75+tx US for the night
Staff - the young man who checked us in was friendly and polite
Quiet
Laminate floors

CONS:
Dirty - the toilet had a ring of black mold at the water line, the windows were filthy, and the 4-season carpet in the staircase was disgustingly dirty and frayed
Hot - the A/C in our unit (215) wasn’t working and our room was a sweatbox
Uncomfortable - the mattresses are ancient. You can feel every spring and any time one of us moved at all, the other woke up because the whole bed moved and creaked
Breakfast room - 6 tables with 2 chairs each could not accommodate the number of guests now the families

Neutral - continental breakfast was juice, coffee, water - cereal, donuts, toast, bagels with butter, jam, cream cheese - apples and clementines. The addition of peanut butter would have been appreciated.

We are a pretty low-maintenance family and I honestly would have preferred to camp out in our tent than spend another night in that room. Look elsewhere if you can.

This is with regard to room 115. Check in was fast and easy. Drove around to the room and swiped the keycard. Green light - but door wouldn't open. Tried again. And again. Kept getting green light, but door wouldn't budge. A motel staff person happened to drive by and saw me attempting to shoulder barge the door. He kicked it and it opened. He claimed it was "freshly painted" and was sticking because of that. **It definitely was NOT freshly painted and if it was should have been sanded down if that was the issue. Upon entering I wanted to place my soda bottles into the fridge only to discover that there was no fridge nor a microwave. The space where it would have been (based on online photos) was empty. The reason for my stay was to attend a wake that evening and I needed to go so I figured I'd just get ice to keep the sodas cold.
Getting back several hours later, I could not get that door open no matter how hard I tried to shoulder butt it. I resorted to kicking it and that worked so well that I literally fell down into the room. (yeah, I giggled but just for a second) I went to wash up and noticed little ants on the floor. Just a few at this point - but enough to make me put all my things back into my car rather than leaving them in the room. Upon flushing the toilet, I discovered that to make it stop running I had to fling the flusher thing several times. There were other minor cosmetic issues - spackled walls, chipped tiles, missing grout - which probably wouldn't have made a difference if not for everything else. The bathroom had a very overwhelming smell of chemicals. Not sure where it was coming from, but it was in this area. Noticed that there was "stuff" on the floors - not sure what it was - paper - crumbs, stuff that shouldn't be there. I slept fine - no ants thankfully in the bed! In the morning when I went to shower I discovered a very used towel hanging on the hook behind the bathroom door. The tub was "clean" but obviously had been around for many years.
Bottom line is with so many cheap rooms available in the area - I would think twice before staying here - or at least not staying in this room. The lobby was very nice - I decided against the breakfast. I did leave a note documenting all this but didn't have the patience to bother going back to the desk to complain.

Room tip: stay away from 115

I stop at this hotel every time I travel from Georgia back to my home town in Québec. I like the place. Not a luxury hotel, but it is OK. Clean and quiet, breakfast is OK for the price ( very affordable)

Room tip: All rooms are OK

We took a gamble on our way back from Maine, and stayed at a different hotel than on our way. Bad choice! This Econo Lodge is about what I have come to expect from the name, and an insult to the Choice brand.
Quite a littered parking lot, dark, and a property that has seen better days. The room was plain, no fridge, no microwave or coffee. The bathroom was disgusting, hair in the corners, and in the tub, and complete with a smear of poo on the wall.
Breakfast was a further joke, with what I assume to be the owner creeping around, watching, making sure I wouldn't steal a muffin. Never a good morning, never a thanks, just cold stares like I didn't belong there and wasn't welcome. Well, one thing is for sure, we didn't belong there, and won't ever be again.

I love the laminate floors. So much cleaner than carpets! All the appliances and lights worked, unlike what others experienced. The room was clean and the breakfast was nice. Even clementines were available. This is a great place for a stopover when you need a break from the road! (Just watch out for the people travelling to work and using the parking lot as a cut through!)
