This is with regard to room 115. Check in was fast and easy. Drove around to the room and swiped the keycard. Green light - but door wouldn't open. Tried again. And again. Kept getting green light, but door wouldn't budge. A motel staff person happened to drive by and saw me attempting to shoulder barge the door. He kicked it and it opened. He claimed it was "freshly painted" and was sticking because of that. **It definitely was NOT freshly painted and if it was should have been sanded down if that was the issue. Upon entering I wanted to place my soda bottles into the fridge only to discover that there was no fridge nor a microwave. The space where it would have been (based on online photos) was empty. The reason for my stay was to attend a wake that evening and I needed to go so I figured I'd just get ice to keep the sodas cold.
Getting back several hours later, I could not get that door open no matter how hard I tried to shoulder butt it. I resorted to kicking it and that worked so well that I literally fell down into the room. (yeah, I giggled but just for a second) I went to wash up and noticed little ants on the floor. Just a few at this point - but enough to make me put all my things back into my car rather than leaving them in the room. Upon flushing the toilet, I discovered that to make it stop running I had to fling the flusher thing several times. There were other minor cosmetic issues - spackled walls, chipped tiles, missing grout - which probably wouldn't have made a difference if not for everything else. The bathroom had a very overwhelming smell of chemicals. Not sure where it was coming from, but it was in this area. Noticed that there was "stuff" on the floors - not sure what it was - paper - crumbs, stuff that shouldn't be there. I slept fine - no ants thankfully in the bed! In the morning when I went to shower I discovered a very used towel hanging on the hook behind the bathroom door. The tub was "clean" but obviously had been around for many years.
Bottom line is with so many cheap rooms available in the area - I would think twice before staying here - or at least not staying in this room. The lobby was very nice - I decided against the breakfast. I did leave a note documenting all this but didn't have the patience to bother going back to the desk to complain.
