Check in and out was very easy. The room had two double beds, but was very large. It had newer bedding, curtains, etc. It was clean and quiet and the beds were comfortable. Bathroom was a bit older, but fully functional. Breakfast included options of coffee, juice, cereal, fruit and a variety of breakfast breads. We were looking for a place off the thruway to sleep that had a simple breakfast. This place fit the bill.
This hotel is in a good location, being right off the main highway. There were a few places to eat nearby. The morning breakfast was good having fresh fruit, and bread products. There was no hot food, but plenty of cold choices. The room was very basic, but clean. There was no elevator.
My room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. And surprisingly, the shower had plenty of water pressure. The front desk attendant could have been friendlier, but I have encountered worse. For the price, the room was a value.
We booked a day in advance thinking this was a 3 star, good enough and just passing through for a night. The room was is poor condition, had a clump of hair, fly poop and the cleaner missed a washcloth still hanging over the shower curtain. It smelled like it used to be a smoking room, took a while to air it out. There were two other couples, their rooms were no better. Mould was found around bathtub and tub was dirty looking and stained. I was given a $10 discount when I said it was dirty. I also wrote to the company twice, included the photos I had taken, no response.
Just want to warn ahead this is far from a decent stay, not sure if there are better rooms, our three were not acceptable!

Stayed twice this trip 10/18 and 10/27/2016. This was 8th & 9th times I have stayed at this EconoLodge in Colonie, NY. There are 5 other motels in the immediate vicinity, but this EconoLodge is my favorite. The sheets and towels are always immaculate and soft. The beds are very comfortable. The carpet looked brand new and was clean. The continental breakfast is adequate and appreciated. The public transit bus stop is located in front of the motel parking lot. I travel public transportation all the way so that convenience is much appreciated. Since my last trip in May 2016, Cumberland Convenience Food & Gas Mart opened next door to the motel. That created a very convenient place to shop and much needed improvements to the public sidewalk between the motel and the transit bus stop. I will definitely stay at this EconoLodge again and will recommend it to anyone wanting a great place to sleep when visiting the Capitol Region.
