Good and Bad

Interesting property, two separate buildings. Overall this hotel is really tired. BUT my stay was good. Comfortable bed, great front desk staff, good shower, easy parking, lots of channels to surf. Very reasonable pricing- understand January in Albany is slow and rates are low. The bad.... piles of leaves all over outside- need some work landscaping clean up from 3 months ago, Ice formed durning the day, snow on sidewalks, 24 hours later still there. Door to guest room difficult to open, impossible to shut. I literally has a lot of trouble getting it to close to go to sleep. Paint is chipping, mold on tin caulk.... quick easy place to stay, priced right.

Thank you for providing us with feedback about your stay at our hotel. We would like to sincerely apologize that your stay fell short of the standards set forth by the Marriott brand and the standards that we set for ourselves.

Although we are pleased to hear about your positive experience with our staff, we are disappointed to hear about your negative experience with the condition of the property. Your experience was simply unacceptable, and we can assure you that the appropriate staff was addressed to ensure that your experience with the icy sidewalks is a one time occurrence that does not repeat itself moving forward.

We are pleased to announce, however, that we will be receiving a renovation in the near future, to better allow us to serve and meet the needs of our guests. Your feedback about your stay will help us determine where the focus of the remodel should be.

Skip It, Super 8 Likely Better

Dirty, room not fully serviced, unlike a typical Marriott property. Lots of disappointment.

My mistake was trusting Marriott app and not looking into this hotel. It was a last minute decision, and regretful.

With their expansion, Marriott has really dropped in quality. Can’t rely on the brand any longer.

Don’t waste your money

We stayed here because we are Marriott rewards members- the rooms were filthy, there was no bedding for the sofa bed even though we booked for 5. The waffle maker was broken for the breakfast and no one refilling the food. We will be contacting Marriott- absolutely the worst Marriott we have ever stayed in.

More misses than positives - not your average Marriott property

I normally do not write reviews for hotels as you mostly know what you are getting by the brand and property. This case is different - As wife and I experienced more misses that positives.
The positives - good location (for us as it was near family for the Thanksgiving holiday).
1) Room was clean and mostly comfortable (see bed below).
2) Good amount of lighting available in the room.
The misses -
1) Bed/mattress - really showing it's age - sagging in the middle.
2) Informational card in room - indicated that breakfast was from M-F 6:30am - 10am and Sat-Sun 6:30am - 10am.
BUT on FRI morning when we arrived at 9am - they basically closed the door in our face as the sign outside of the breakfast room said 6:30am - 9am.
PLEASE get your signage to match.
Breakfast area on 2nd day (when we were able to eat their) - ran out of cups and forks.
3) A lot of ice pellet material was spread outside (due to weather) - good to see.
But this stuff was tracked in at all the doors - especially the tiny lobby area - I would expect to see the front desk staff to use a manual carpet sweeper or broom to clean this up during the day, instead of waiting for housekeeping in the morning to clean it once.
4) Charge for parking? why - on holidays and weekends - this area is absolutely empty other than cars in your surface parking lots. I would gladly pay for covered parking.

Room tip: Use 2nd building if you do not want the breakfast room smells to penetrate the hallway/room

Best Part is full refrigerator with freezer

Difficult to find entrance at night. When mentioned to front desk clerk, seemed this wasn't the first time he heard that. On the road, traveling with food, so having a full refrigerator/freezer was a big plus. Bathroom space was very small. Studio room was ok. Breakfast room was drab and unwelcoming. So-so food, but it's free and right there.

Room tip: May need to go outside to get to breakfast room.
