When I walked in the room I was immediately disappointed. I stayed in a non-smoking room, but it smelled like smoke. I saw a bedbug and decided it wasn’t worth the stay — got a refund and found another hotel.

We did it early check-in and the room was available but they still charges us $40 to check in then we took a nap and went out and then we come back all our dirty stuff was still on the floor the beds were not made .... and the only thing they came back with was more towels for us

Thank you for bringing to our attention your experience and comments regarding your stay in our hotel. The room was thoroughly inspected the next morning and no bugs were found and also the room was rented out, with no further bug complaints. I want to assure you that we are thoroughly investigating this claim and that although we have not found any evidence of a bug infestation, we are taking the necessary precautions to ensure that nothing is missed. I want to assure you that we respond promptly to pest alerts with expert extermination services and also treat to deter pests on a regular scheduled basis.

Room was ok. What was horrible was the breakfast and lack thereof. Then a lady walked in and took a towel and put it on the floor to wipe up a coffee spill and then used the same towel to wipe down the counter and a table, completely grossed me out!

We are a Wyndham Diamond member and we
requested early check in as to get ready for a family birthday party. When we got to hotel , we were told that check in was not till 3 , once I gave the front desk person my name she looked it up and said yes I see the request , but I still can’t check you in as we have no power ( the entire area was with out power) . I asked if I could change at least some where to get ready for birthday party . She said no power anywhere . Once I explained again my situation she said I could go to room to at least change . My husband opened all curtains so I could see and stood guard as I changed !!! The room was spotless , just no towels as no power to do laundry . Room was stuffy and a bit stale smelling , but we chalked that up to no power . We left our suitcase in room and went to party . Upon returning that evening we were happy to find power restored and the room stocked with towels and such and also as requested extra pillows . The pool , courtyard and grounds were kept very well and the newly renovated room was nice . It may be an older hotel, but with the remodel felt brand new. All staff, front desk, cleaning and grounds keeping were wonderful. There was a broken flower pot near pool and a gentleman who worked there put it in a wheel barrel and took the plants and put them in other planters around hotel instead of just throwing it out , very nice . We will defiantly stay here again in the future for family visits. Very glad we chose this hotel. Great job to all .

Id never stay there again if i could of got a refund back for that stay i would of liked one, i dont recommand staying there unless they fix the room (s) where guest can open windows and have ventation, its smelled so bad in there only stayed one night and check out that early morning to find somewhere else

Good basic hotel at reasonable prices in an excellent area. You need a safe place without being too expansive? Howard Johnson is easy to find (exit 2W) on 87 and north about half a mile, Near restaurants, major highways, very quiet. Recent updated and remodeled hotel each year: beds super comfortable and everything: chairs, drapery, towels, etc. Rooms are super clean. Convenience: fridge, micro wave, coffe maker, a safety box. Also a small exercise room on site. Seemed to be an older motel, but in decent shape.
We were on the bakkside away from the trafic. Nice big courtyard area arount the pool. Shopping options like Colonie Center and Crossgates Mall are nearby. The self serve continental breakfast is excellent.
All the staff, including Nayana, work hard and are extremely friendly and helpful. We made this hotel our place to stay in Albany (Colonie) since about 10 years and we will be pleased to return 1 or 2 times a year for a stay of 2-3 days. Overall we give this hotel 4.5 stars and we will book again. Thank to the pleasant front desk.
We are from Quebec City, we speak French and I did my best to write in English.
Room tip: A lovely grass lawn, a pool, rooms in the pool center: more quiet and sunny
