I did an e check in but still stopped by the desk Great room. I had called earlier and expressed my desire for a ground floor room. When I went to e check in they had preselected the perfect room for me. Friendly staff at the front desk. Very clean. The grab and go bags are not great but as a diabetic I usually bring my own breakfast to avoid a carb over load

I have stayed at this location several times before the covid pandemic and two times during the covid pandemic.

The staff, particularly, Andrew are very nice which is why I gave a rating of two instead of one. Also, the room was very clean.

The reason for my low rating is threefold:
1. When I stayed during the July 24th 2020 weekend, the breakfast was bare minimal. I totally understand that they cannot offer the breakfast buffet during covid but their to-go breakfast bag consisted of a bottle of water, a BJ's pastry, a nutragrain bar and a golf size clementine. When I wrote the review back then, management responded that they were still adjusting to the pandemic and to give them some time. I was just their during Columbus Day weekend and the breakfast bag is the same. I have spoken with friends who have stayed during the pandemic at other Hampton Inns and they were given a choice of juice, yogurt, fruit and a flavor packet for the water. They are saving a lot of money by not doing the breakfast buffet, they can put in a bit more effort into the breakfast bag. Thankfully, there is a Starbucks a block from them.
2. Columbus Day weekend was just after a storm in the area that knocked out power for over 100,000 people. All the hotels were booked to capacity because of out of town utility workers and tree workers. There is a small sign when you enter the hotel about wearing a face-mask. When I went into the lobby to get towels and hot water for tea, two men were sitting by the chairs near the front door with no face masks on or even in sight. You could not avoid passing them if you came in the front door or from the hallway where the first floor rooms are. There were also two men sitting at a table working with no face masks on. I mentioned to the young lady about the men not wearing face-masks and that New York law requires face-masks indoors when distancing is not possible. The response that I got is "we are not face-mask police, if you want to say something to them you can." These men were more than twice my weight and I am 5 foot 1 inch tall, seriously, I am going to approach these men and what authority do I have? My husband and I are immune compromised, if I have to worry about walking into the lobby because a front desk person cannot walk over to a guest and explain that face masks are required, then I can no longer stay at this location. People were also going into the elevator without face-masks on. Other hotels in the area have larger signs letting people know that face masks are required.
3. Before the covid pandemic, we stayed in rooms on the upper floors and did not experience any problems with the rooms. Because of the pandemic we have requested rooms on the first floor near the side entrance to lower our chances of passing other people. One of the reasons why we love the Hampton Inn chain is because their beds are always comfortable. During our July visit, the box spring in room 102 was broken. This time we stayed in room 103 and the bed was very uncomfortable. It is the first time staying at a Hampton Inn that I woke up with a back ache. This property is one of the older properties in this chain in the area and apparently they have not updated the beds in a while.

I was having the hardest time trying to find a htl rm. w/ all my circumstances. The front desk man (Andrew? Last name I believe starts w/ an S) got me in & at a great rate! Mans was the biggest help! Answered all my Q’s. Rm was clean. Amenities were great. First time in a Hampton Htl. 5 Stars across the board.
