The location is great to travel the area around Albany, such as Lake George, Troy, Hudson, Cooperstown is the farthest away at 75 miles, but if you want to visit all the areas, this is a great location. Breakfast is okay, nice pool and patio. Rooms a bit outdated, but clean and quiet.
This is a wonderful hotel. It has everything. Pool and small gym. The rooms are nice. Breakfast in the morning. Free parking. Youtube TV. But bed is too hard. I didn’t get to sleep. Small refrigerator and microwave. There is a safe in the room. Shower and toilet are in different locations.
I like being able to weigh in on these to help other families decide about cheaper hotels. My questions is always is it safe and clean and this was both. Very affordable for a family of five. It also very nicely situated for people passing through- it’s just off 90. It’s also in a nice area- they have our essentials Target Starbucks and Barnes and Noble right there. It’s a little dinged up and the pool could have felt slightly cleaner (not bad though). Having Chobani yogurts available for breakfast was nice. Very nice value play imo. I
Rudest management ever. Refused to get my 10 yr old a small packet of strawberry jam from kitchen saying kitchen was locked and they didn’t have keys. This was a lie. Because the kitchen was not even locked. So I went in the kitchen to get the jam. Yes, I know that was improper. But then the same manager ‘Vincent’ comes storming into the kitchen, keys in hand, screaming at me to get out in as threatening a manner possible, pressing his enormous chest at my meager one, and saying he’d call the cops if I didn’t leave the kitchen immediately. I saidd sure, but can you give my child a small container of strawberry jam. No. Get out.
So that was fun. Then he canceled my 79 yr old mom’s reservation at the hotel to retaliate against me.
I tried to complain and he said: you can’t complain. I am the manager.
So yeah. I won’t be back.
The beds and the linens were of good quality. The breakfast was plentiful, tasty, and well-prepared; however, it lacked variety. It was quite clean.
The major problems were the following:
The pool had way too much chlorine in it. The lighting over the bed was not accommodating. The TV offered little, and the channels didn’t match up to what they said they were. The sofa bed was miserable in every way, No where to put unpacked clothes (spent 10 days there).
Couldn’t access the network for school computer work, because the network wasn’t secure. And the freezer door was missing on the fridge.
Our major criticism and reason for the low rating, was the night manager’s surly and confrontational interaction with a paying guest. He should be a bouncer at a low-class strip joint.
