Went to a professional business cocktail reception at the Renaissance Albany Hotel. Parking was convenient and connected to the hotel. The room was a great size for the group, the staff was particularly attentive and passed around hors d'oeuvres delicious.

We recently stayed at the Renaissance Hotel around the corner from State St. We were staying for a wedding and had a perfect stay. From the friendliness of the reception staff to the rooms being so spacious and clean it’s no wonder it has such a high reputation. We really enjoyed the vibe of the hotel and it had everything a traveler to Albany could ask for. We will be back in the future and could not recommend it enough!

First the good, beautiful lobby ceiling. Otherwise this hotel sucks. As Platinum members we got upgraded to a “suite”. The suite was the size of a small room. A total joke. The decor is modern but quite uncomfortable. Looks like a Target influenced college dorm room. One can barely sit comfortably on the couch. Bathroom door slides and barely closes. Look forward to checkout.

I loved my stay at the Renaissance Albany! It is a fun, friendly, funky hotel, very well decorated, very comfortable. Friendly and efficient staff without attitudes, Dez was very welcoming at check-in, Scott got us switched into a room with a pullout sofa for my son on short notice and wouldn't take a tip, Katy in the lounge made probably the best margaritas I've ever had (they went down so well I had 3 without realizing it...).
Overall, a very excellent place to stay. If it costs a little more it is definitely worth it!!

The staff was friendly. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It was a limited menu for room service/restaurant but at least it’s offered currently. Check in was smooth. Upon check out I tried to give my keys to the front desk staff member but she was engaged with a customer so I left them on the counter- unbeknown to me I needed them to exit the parking structure. I pushed the call button at the gate three times and no answer. Since there were cars behind me I paid again and left. I called later that day and had to ask twice to get the $25 refunded- hopefully it will show up on my credit card. Overall a good choice for a clean, nice hotel. Check out the vibe when you walk in the room- maybe this blue is the theme, this branch of Marriott is new to me.
