I stayed in this hotel when I was coming back from my trip to Boston. It's a nice and clean hotel. It has comfy beds and friendly staff. Plus the breakfast was really good. I loved all of the tasty food. I would totally come here again if I had the chance.
Omg the customer service was great. The manager Gerald Bradshaw was courteous, friendly and exceeded my expectations every-time. He was very helpful and informative. I stayed there before and was informed regarding the gym. Gerald informed me of all amenities! He always kept a smile on his face whether he was interacting or just passing by.
The rooms were spacious and clean. I highly recommend this hotel. The location was good for site seeing and events!!
I would totally stay at this hotel again! We were in town for Dave Matthews Band at SPAC (about a 40-minute drive). The amazing people at the front desk were super kind, friendly, and helpful, and I loved the little amenities like mints, chocolates, and cookies at the front desk. The breakfast was an unexpected perk - I thought it was better than your average hotel breakfast. Fresh and diverse food options (I have a protein-forward diet and was super satisfied with the choices), ample dining space, lots of coffee, was restocked frequently, and clean. The location is in the middle of everything and I felt safe walking around downtown. I loved how spacious the room was and that it had both a fridge and a microwave. The beds were comfy and had a nice mix of firm and soft pillows.
I only have two downsides; street parking (but what can you expect in a city as old as Albany that was not built for cars? Stay in the 'burbs if surface parking matters to you) and the gym was a bit sparse.
This is the best of what a Fairfield Inn should be. Overall, had a fabulous stay!
- You can use the loading zone in front of the hotel but then have to park in public parking nearby. On one of the nights we stayed, there was a concert going on at the MVP arena and the nearest garage had an event fee so we had to park in one farther away.
- The room is sufficiently clean however the hair conditioner container fell off in the shower and the towel hanger fell off the bathroom wall and they left them like that during our entire stay. The hotel is dated and falling apart and guest service is clearly not their priority.
- The breakfast area had sufficient space however the food choice is so basic that we opted to go to get breakfast elsewhere. Additionally, they only had single use utensils and plates that had to be thrown away.
- There were restaurants in walking distance, however, it didn't feel too safe to walk around in the evening in the area so we ended up driving to restaurants.
- The mattress was quite uncomfortable; probably very old.
- Overall, we will try to find a different hotel if we come back to Albany.
Two thumbs up to Erica at the front desk and to the team at this spotless, warm and inviting hotel steps away (up a hill, if that matters) from the State Capitol. The hot breakfast was plentiful, and the room was spacious by NY standards. We would gladly stay there again!
