I had the pleasure of staying at the Fairfield Inn for a quick business trip. I arrived just after they had 2 1/2 feet of snow 12hrs prior. My welcome was warm and extremely friendly. The front desk attendant was funny, entertaining and extremely helpful. She offered me several close options for dinner. I needed to valet my car and Gordon took great care of me and the car. Not only did he assist with my luggage, but made sure I had everything, explained the cost and also recommended some dinner options. When I realized that I had left my toothbrush at home, he was the one who answered the phone and brought me a toothbrush and toothpaste, with the BIGGEST smile on his face and asked if I needed anything else and how my stay was so far.
My room was beautiful! The housekeeping and engineering teams clearly enjoy where they work as the room was spotless, no odor, everything worked, was fresh. Job Well Done! Breakfast was OK in the morning.
My only complaint was the morning valet/bellman. I understand that the cars are parked in a garage and it could take 10 minutes or so to get. The valet/bellman who went to get my car took 20 minutes, at 11:00am, not in rush hour. When he finally showed up with my car, he was on Facetime with a buddy. He barely even acknowledged me. Did not even offer to assist me with my suitcase...in the snow and slush. My seat and mirrors were moved....valet rule number 1...don't move the seat. I was not impressed. As I work for a hotel in Orlando, your valet/bell team is the first and last impression for a guest. Thankfully my experience the night prior was excellent. I will for sure be staying at the Fairfield next time I am in the Albany area for sales calls.
