My review is a copy of the letter I sent the hotel’s manager. The blaring fire alarms and verbal announcements plus bright strobe lights continued for approximately a half hour after the alarms began, making rest, never mind sleep, impossible. Ever try going back to sleep after being awakened suddenly? I never received a reply (after a phone call and two emails), so I am sharing what I sent with the TA community:
Mr. Hemmid,
I was your customer on Friday, September 20, in room 1005. As you know, there were two fire alarms that night, both false alarms, one at 10 pm, the second one at 4:15 AM. The second alarm was (I was informed by the desk clerk) the result of a rowdy and irresponsible group spraying the room with a fire extinguisher. Did no one notice a potentially or actively rowdy group? There must have been some noises or hints of trouble before the fire extinguisher incident. No one checked, or insisted that the group leave before the entire building of hotel guests were inconvenienced?
I selected the Hilton for a good night’s sleep during a long road trip. The Hilton should reimburse me the cost of the room. The desk clerk could not help - I was told that I will need to call the hotel manager.
This email is to follow up on a phone message I left you earlier today. Feel free to call or reply to this mail if you have any questions or require additional information. I expect a reversal of the $172.18 that was charged to my credit card.
