As a Hilton Honors member, I like to stay at different properties across the portfolio. I had previously been to and reviewed here the Hilton and HGI in Albany. I think I had been to this Hampton many years ago but hadn't been on TripAdvisor then.
Upon arrival, since I had the Digital Key, I bypassed the desk figuring on going straight to my chosen room, which I had checked into online the day before. It worked fine in the elevator, but when I got to my room it did not. The key did not activate in green as it should to be used in the correct door. Back down in the lobby, now I did partake of the front desk. The process was friendly and efficient. With the old fashioned plastic room key in hand, I returned to the elevator and eventually my room.
The room was amply sized for a Hampton Inn and the bathroom was clean and provide enough space for my toiletries. There was a barking dog next door, which luckily stopped when most people were sleeping.
COVID protocols were being observed, so I felt safe throughout my stay.
In the morning, I did not partake of breakfast, as I was nervous about getting an Uber ride back to the Amtrak station. Check-out was simple and quick.
