We checked in this afternoon on the way home from vacation in Maine to break up the trip and enjoy dinner at Jack’s. The hotel has been updated nicely and the room is clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff are very nice And accommodated us at check in. But, we returned from dinner to find the entrance area and lobby completely full of National Grid power workers who were not fully observing COVID rules established by the hotel. People congregating in groups with no social distancing. Some without masks. Lots of drinking, loud talking and yelling at the adjacent bar which flooded over to the lobby. No Hilton security or management in sight to monitor and enforce their own policies. I understand that these folks are helping the area with significant power outages caused by recent storms but the hotel is still responsible to manage the situation. During our vacation in Maine we never encountered lack of compliance anywhere we visited. Now I feel like I have to quarantine when I get home.
