A typical roadside motel, above avg

I saw some scary reviews, but took a chance anyway. I think this is a perfectly normal roadside motel. If anything, it's better than average. It's not new, so the age shows at times, but nothing to be screaming about. Room was clean. Large size, good equipment (fridge, microwave, etc). Good towels, bedding. Breakfast was typical (wafflemaker, bagels, cereal, etc). Close to the hwy. In short, if you've stayed in these types of motels before and have the right expectations, I can't imagine why would you be disappointed. I won't hesitate to stay again should I drive by Albany.

Keep Driving!!

So, while traveling this past summer got to Albany NY late and found it difficult to find any available accommodation. Eventually, came across Travelodge Inn & Suites by Wyndham Albany. So as the saying goes any port in a storm.
It is difficult to write the review because this accommodation set my benchmark for bad to a whole new lower level. Try as I might, there is not anything good that I can say about this place.
The room was dirty, the bed creaked like something out of a horror movie, the non-smoking room stank of cigarette smoke. The bathroom fared no better, with insufficient towels and just a basically grimy area in need of a real deep clean.

Since your August 2018 stay, we have been updating our rooms with several new beds, new bed covering, replacing carpeting with hardwood flooring and painting the walls. We feel your review is significantly unjustified. If you would like to discuss your stay further, we would be most happy to hear from you.

Detour on our tour of America

Booked this on the day as we had to make a detour.
Very good booking in process and lovely room with Extra King Size bed, would have one of these at home...Surprised at the facilities in the room Ice machine down the hall.
Reasonable rate and great room

Room tip: It's not on the main road so all rooms seem good.

Has Potential

The location was great. Room was adequate and fairly clean. The bathroom could have been cleaner, especially the shower head, which was pretty clogged on all settings. Breakfast was okay. The front desk staff was fantastic, and very friendly.

The only down sides were the limited access into the building (no side entries), and the loudness of the staff. The staff was really loud for most of the day. We got stuck working in, and had a hard time concentrating with the boisterous, and sometimes inappropriate conversations that seemed to be right outside our door.

All in all, this could be a really nice place with a little, just a little, refinement.

We were pleased to see that our staff met your expectations and complied with our owner’s mission statement which is: “To provide each and every guest with a clean, safe and friendly atmosphere . . with a SMILE”. However, we were concerned to see that the “Cleanliness” required improvement.

We welcome all guest reviews as their input provides an opportunity to respond to their concerns. Unfortunately, we do not have sufficient information (room number and date of stay) to address the issues mentioned in your review.

Your comment regarding the loudness of our staff did not go unnoticed and has been forwarded your review to the Head Housekeeper and Front Desk Manager.

I would like to pass on the “Good News” that we are currently upgrading our property as follows: (1) replacing the guest room carpeting with hard wood flooring, (2) new bed covering has been delivered and (3) we have several new beds on order.

Great place in front of lot of Malls and Shopping in Albany

Its a great little motel with decent rooms and prices in shopping area of Albany.

Its good to stay if couples but rooms a bit small for family.
rooms are nicely done with LED Tv good bedding and nice washroom.

No frills place.
