Gradual negative slope

2nd stay at this location. The “European styling” is pleasant, implies lack of clutter and cleanliness. The rooms themselves remind me of youth hostels - IKEA inspired furniture, lighting. Seem to understaffed in regard to cleaning. Nobody is wiping, tidying the breakfast area. Or if they are, need to get to it 2-3 times more frequently. The room also had some minor cleanliness issues.

Not a pan of the bulk soaps and products in the bath area. The bath soap is something similar to Dove- combine that with the local hard water and it’s not possible to get squeaky-clean. My shower soap came loose and was dripping, providing a slippery environment. Will return to using my own soap next time.

Location is great and check-in was quick. Slept well in the dark room thanks to the 2-layer window treatments. Bed was fine. Television used to be easier to navigate, but this one was not horrible. For a one-night stay, this Tru satisfies. Imagine I’ll return.

Room Tip: Bring your own bar soap. No plastic bag available for dirty laundry.

The hotel is in a good location. Businesses and buildings near are GREAT. Every restaurant from Ruth Chris Steakhouse, Longhorn, Outback to McDonald's almost within walking distance. Now as for the hotel. It appears to be a relatively new building but it is WORN DOWN already. I believe, based on the number of worker trucks in the parking lot, that this hotel has a lot of out of town workers that stay here. Perhaps they are rougher on the rooms than simply overnight guests. Not sure but, but they need a preventative maintenance team to stay on top of common area and room care. Please see my pics of room 408 and common areas to judge for yourself. Common carpets need to be shampooed, cleaning staff need to do a much better job.....based on all the dark hairs on walls and floor in the shower. Love the Tru chain because of the sitting area and full size frig but not when it's dirty.

This is a really nice hotel, however there are some cons. First the pros:
Very comfortable lobby, nice staff, very nice hot breakfast in the lobby (omelets, pancakes, toast, bagels, oatmeal, etc.). The rooms were nice and spacious (we had a wheelchair accessible room so not sure if it was larger than the regular rooms). The staff was friendly and accommodating. They have a free service where they will drop you off and pick you up from any local restaurant, etc. Nice outdoor area with fireplace to sit out in the evenings.

Now the cons: NO hot water! This was a big negative for me. The water was lukewarm and not so pleasant to take a shower. The noise level in the room was very bad. I could hear every footstep in the room above me, and in the hallways. ....extremely annoying. Very little insulation. No real blankets on the bed...instead there are these thin mattress cover looking things that I did not care for.

Overall it was a very good place with those few exceptions.

Third great visit to this Tru. Based on this location, we have stayed at other Tru Hotels.
This hotel is convenient for visiting family in this area. That is why we chose it. But the service and cleanliness keeps us coming back. Price is great.
This visit was no exception. Entire hotel including rooms are spotless. Bed is comfortable. Shower hot. Soaps, lotions, and shampoo smell divine! The staff is so friendly. It is so nice to be greeted by smiling faces. The breakfast is plentiful and good. The breakfast attendant was a ray of sunshine!
We will always stay here when we visit family in the area!

When in Europe and we want a cheap alternative to a “good” hotel the night prior to an early flight we choose the Ibis chain. They are basic but have all we need. I. That spirit we chose Tru near Albany airport prior to an early flight. It is no Ibis. We did not feel welcome. The room was cold in every way. Yes, I turned up the heat, but it constantly went on and off and kept us awake. There was only a plastic chair or the bed to sit on. The floors were cold fake wood. Bathroom was basic to an extreme. Only a thin white cover was on the bed over the sheets. Worst, perhaps, was that the window shade did not in any way keep the light from the parking lot out. We barely slept. For just a little more we could have stayed at a nice hotel. We won’t make this error again. In fact, we will avoid Hilton in general.
