“Nice place good location, Wonderful people !”
Reviewed 6 May 2018 for a stay in May 2018

It was only one night but could be much more !
Que quiet and very nice location of this apartment, the nice view from one of it's windows from room makes me feel really nice. A separate entrance in an old but reconstructed building was just perfect for one night or more in Safed,
Thanks to Marla and Jacob that were in touch with me giving a lot info to the city and just being there ...

“Cozy apartment with a tiny rooftop balcony to take in the views and the sun”

I booked a room in Mid February, The Apartment is perfectly situated in the center of the Old City. Walking distance to everything. When I was there it was fairly cold in the evenings - so if traveling in winter bring some extra layers.
I met the hostess Marla who was incredibly welcoming and provided all that was needed.
Towels , Soap ,Linen, Coffee ,a container of juice and even cereal was included.
There are stairs to walk ( as in most of the city Tsafat ) involved to get this apartment hideaway - but considering the Size of the 3 rooms and proximity to all this a thumbs up Tsafat experience . Thanks again Marla and Jacob G

It was a pleasure to have hosted Keith. We are happy you loved that our property is located in the heart of the Artists' Quarter. It's amazing to hear that you took advantage of the restored balcony. We are glad you were satisfied with our accommodation and services that included an incredible welcoming with a fully equipped apartment. We are happy you understand that there are stairs all over the Old City of Tzfat as this is part of the charm of the Old City. This is what makes Tzfat so unique.

“Great old Tzfat flavor”
Reviewed 23 November 2015 for a stay in March 2015

This quaint apartment gives a very nice flavor of Old Tzfat. The location can't be beaten. The owners were very helpful before we arrived, even giving us a written guide of the area. The on-site person was great as well. And the price is great!

I stayed here for 2 nights with 2 adults and 5 young children for a slightly chilly spring visit. We would stay here again for the character and great location.

The apartment consists of one nice sized bedroom with a bigger bed (queen or full?), a small table, and a couch, a second very small room with a couch, a folding bed, and a wardrobe, and the main area. Because of the size and closed-in feeling in the small room, we all slept in the big room. The owners were great about helping to accommodate us, so we ended up with two bigger mattresses and the couch, which worked out for us. The owners provided us with the second bigger mattress, and they were very helpful, so ask if something is not quite what you need and see if they can help.

The pictures have been updated and are accurate as of this review (Nov 2015).

The main area has a small sitting area with couch, a small kitchen with minimal items in it, and a dining table with chairs. The bathroom was a little sketchy, with a little bit of a trick to the shower. There was wifi, which made my kiddos happy at the end of our long days of walking.

The less good points: The kitchen isn't very modern, and it would not be well equipped to really cook in. But to purchase some items and store them for our short stay, it was perfectly adequate. I did need to clean the refrigerator better to feel comfortable using it. In addition, the apartment has a somewhat old feel, with a few of the outlets a little loose - but very authentic. The entry right outside the apartment was always very wet, for some reason. Last, getting to the apartment requires using many stairs (not unusual for old Tsfat, but tough for a strollers - something to keep in mind as you are packing!)

To be clear, this is not a luxury apartment, but it is definitely full of Tzfat character. We loved our two night stay - all 7 of us!

“Visiting Tsaft, is to live in Tsfat.”
Reviewed 9 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Among many reasons to visit a place, it is oftenly a part of the stay, to live locally.

This is absolutely a place where you get to live in the heart of Tsfat, getting to know the "authentic" feeling and atmosphere. This is what we expected, and this is what we got. The many stairs is a part of the charming essence, and so are the friendly neighbours.

If we wanted a nice hotel, then we would have booked a nice hotel. That was neither the intention, nor the issue. So if you plan for a spa, buffet, gym and all the hotel-must-haves; go for a hotel. If you plan to stay in the heart of Tsfat, experiencing living locally, and experienceing living in a old building with all the pros and cons there is to this; then this is a good place to stay.

The kitchen had what we needed, and the bedrooms had good beds, and the dining rooom had enough room for us and our guest.

I have no problem renting this place again, knowing what I am going for, and not to mention; comparing the prices. This is offcourse a major issue :-)

Jakob and Marla was wery welcoming. Good follow up, and a friendly atmosphere.

If you are in Tsfat, there is a must see you in no way should miss!!! And that is the Third Temple presentation with model and guide. It is only available upon request, and the contact info is Charim Clorfene; tel: foreign call (+972) 46972533 / local call 046972533. It is located in Jabotinsky Road, just nearby.

The city´s story is worth learning, and the presentation of "The Davidka" is a part of what you should pay attention to when you are there. Is is displayed in the city center.

“Needs some work”
Reviewed 16 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

The apartment is, indeed, centrally located and very quaint. Marla is a very kind, considerate and helpful property manager. The price, for Safed, is reasonable. On the other hand, we were expecting, from the photos, a well-kept apartment in a well-kept area. To reach the apartment from either above (Jerusalem Street) or below (Arlozorov, where there actually is parking) means negotiating at least 50 stairs outside the building, some of which are just ugly and others of which are actually dangerous. The photos of the apartment must be at least two years old and the ceiling is peeling and in the winter we suspect you would feel the mold. The water pressure is good and there is lots of hot water, but the fixtures need work. In sum, if you are prepared for these shortcomings, it may still be a worthwhile place to stay for the price, but it would have been better to know what we were actually getting.

Please understand most palaces in the Old City are in need of repair since the properties in the Old City are over 400 years old. If the guest wants a perfect place to stay, there a plenty of places located outside the old city about 30 minutes away that charge 3 times what the guest paid.
