Museum provides an insight into the cigarette industry. It showcases equipment used during yesteryear. Infusion of spices with tobacco to make cigarettes is truly amazing. Active Production unit allows us to see the processes involved in making cigarettes. Their speed is remarkable. Museum is really worth a visit.

Visiting the museum gave an appreciative insight into how the founder, Mr Liem went through tremendous hardship before he built his business empire. The museum is housed in a graceful building within a peaceful garden surrounded by plants and fountains. The family still resides in one of the wings and there are 2 impressive Rolls Royce on display in the adjacent garage. You can actually viewed how the famous Sampoerna cigarettes are made in the factory located at the back of the museum. Unfortunately we visited on a Sunday and it was closed.

Plenty of links to the Dutch era of producing 'clove' sigarets. Interesting for history lovers. Ask a guide, it is free and makes it more understandable.

It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area. It’s a well kept museum telling you the story of the cigarette makers. Very informative. Great!

Just wonder where the clove cigarettes are from? This is the place where the tobacco leaves are processed traditionally by hand and machines into fine cigarettes every smoke would enjoyed every puff. It was also good to know how the small business had evolved into a multi-billion industry worldwide.
